Nice place. It has a laid back, hipster vibe. Artwork on the walls, books behind the bar. Busy but not noisy.
18 beers on tap, almost all their own. The nitro IPA was great.
Food was excellent. Always nice to see a place with vegan options.
Excellent service.

A very popular little gem in downtown Denver. A rather young, hip and hippie style vibe. Beautiful little space, old brick building with art work and concert posters covering the walls. Rustic, yet hip. Creative pub food and a rather extensive, yet confusing selection of taps and bottles. Just went for their taps, even though tgere were many in-house guest beers.

A favorite local brewpub of mine, you can always find a casual/chill environment (sometimes family friendly during peak dinner hours which can be less chill) , great patio space during warmer/sunny weather, and really nice staff. Side patio has corn bag toss and high top tables to wait while you wait for a table. Food is above average and pretty good value as well, but be forewarned it's CASH-only (but ATM with $1 fee is available). Beer list is typically about 10+ Mountain Sun/Vine Street beers plus 4+ guest taps and sometimes bottles. Great events throughout the year including Stout Month during the entire month of February. Must visit place in Denver. Only downside IMO is the lame Mason Jars (CLEAR!?!) growler fills.

As a local, I choose not to frequent this place for the following reasons. 1. Restaurant atmosphere 2. Overpriced. ($17/growler!) 3. Overhyped and crowded.

Atmosphere - plenty of seating inside; on the patio and at the bar; nice and open! Games for everyone to play while they're hanging out and they're cool if you bring in your own games! Great people watching, from the local hippie scene to the families with kids!
Quality - haven't been disappointed with anything here really. They don't take credit cards, so that may be a shock to anyone not carrying cash, but they have a great "good karma" program!
Service - friendly and fairly efficient, though a busy weekend can be hit or miss.
Selection - something for everyone, and luckily for me usually at least 3 that I really like!
Food - excellent and a variety of some off beat stuff and some very basic comfort food!
Value - considering everything...this place is a must!

A Denver outpost of the Boulder brewery - visited after a long day of trekking (and driving) around Rocky Mountain NP. Snagged a nice table outside and proceeded to get pretty intoxicated on hopforward beers.

Food was good enough - high quality bar food with a number of appealing burgers. Definitely hit the spot. There were a ton of taps - lots of hop varietals and a few guests

I'm not sure I would necessarily seek this out when in Denver, but definitely had a great time after the sun went down on the patio.

Big place, dudes playing cornhole outside on the patio, big patio area. Inside, picnic style bench in the middle, lots of seating. Kind of a well to do hippie yuppie vibe. No televisions, despite Broncos pre-season game (maybe they knew beerandraiderfan was coming). They don't accept cards, cash only, automatic 18% gratuity if you and five friends visit the establishment on their own. And of course, since the tip is automatic, the service becomes terrible.

Waited almost a half an hour to have our order taken. Beers were anything but fitting the description the server or menu indicated. Large selection, big tap list, beers taste like it was the same yeast strain in every beer. Colorado Kind, not all that hoppy, for instance. And really gritty. Prices were a little on the high side, but especially when you throw 18% on the top, for really nothing in terms of service other than bringing it to you long after you wanted it, and ordered it.

Food tasted like stuff pulled out of the freezer, the burgers were decent, but nobody in our group was particularly impressed. One couple with us said it used to be cooler, and cheaper here, but those days apparently have passed. I wouldn't recommend really. Its one of those ethos places that seems contrary to its own alleged ethos. All about the money here, not the product, convenience etc. . .

I dig the Vine. The atmosphere is pretty good if you're into the hippie thing (and there's nothing wrong with it by me), but it can be annoyingly crowded with kids and...uh...hippies depending on when you go.

The Vine/Mountain Sun/Southern Sun beers are solid. They also do a pretty good job of bringing in other breweries to supplement the 8-12 Vine beers.

Service is good...not great. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable but not always paying attention, so you might sit with an empty glass on occasion.

Selection is good. The Vine's own beers form a nice core to a selection of 15-20 beers that are high in quality.

Food is pretty solid from burgers to veggie fare. There is some hippie love that goes into the kitchen and it shows in the food. Definitely a step up from the frier fare you find at a lot beer joints, but there is nothing too fancy here, and the price is nice (for food...reasonable for beer). Good carrot cake, for what its worth.

All in all, a good neighborhood spot with good food and beer, but if beer is what you're after, there are better places in Denver. Except during Stout Month.

I give the exact the same review for the Southern Sun in Boulder.

Went for dinner with a friend on a Friday evening. This looks a bit like a typical pub. It's not quite a college hang out, not quite a family restaurant. Does a decent job at walking the line between the two (while I was there, both babies and pregnant women and drunk 20-somethings were present). The interior is big and open and sparsely decorated, and there's two large outdoor patio areas: one with lots of seating and the other is standing only with cornhole games.

The beer selection is sizeable, and both of the beers I tried (an IPA and a saison) were very good. Definitely a wide variety of brews.

Our waitress was fine, but our drinks and food came out slowly. Food was fine. Mostly basic pub/bar food with maybe a slight hippy twist.

Overall a worthy stop.

Vine Street is a great place somewhat off the beaten path from the traditional bar scene in Downtown Denver but not far enough away that you can't enjoy it. A simple trip down 17th gets you there. The atmosphere is extremely relaxed, no TVs, no credit cards, custom chalk art on the ways. You can tell this place is linked to Boulder and has more of a granola/hippy character to it. The service is excellent. The food is also excellent. Great place to relax and unwind with some great food, beer, and perhaps a game of bags on the sidewalk. Highly recommended.

A great little place in uptown Denver. I've been here a couple times with a friend from Boulder - she likes the original so much that whenever she comes down she insists on VSP. They've got a great operation - incredible service, great scene, awesome beer selection, and tasty food.

It's mostly young professionals (uptown...) and a Boulder-like crowd - indie/hipster/Chacos etc. The beer is mostly their own stuff brewed in Boulder (Mountain Sun), but there are plenty of other options as well. Food is bar food, but it's good and there are plenty of options. A great go-to, whether you live in the area or not.

denver brother of boulder's mountain sun. awesome spot. plenty of seating inside and a nice bar with a ton of taps, a backroom for overflow, cool art on the walls, bustling but always a cool energy, very colorado to me every time i come in. they were having stout month, so they featured about ten on tap, most of them theirs with just a few high quality guest beers. cool atmosphere and amazing service (lots of babes too), they do it by group which is nice, they are on top of it. service was champion, with plenty of free tasters and expertise, same as mountain sun. fair prices for happy hour, but a little steep after that. looked like good food but we didnt eat. will absolutely be back here. they run a great operation.

edit: having been back here many times now, the beers are always awesome, the service has never been anything less than fantastic, even when they are packed, and they have for my money the best chicken wings in the city. i look forward to going here every time, and think them among the treasures of our city!

We stopped in here this past Tuesday for a bite to eat before we hopped on the plane back to Boston. This is a great neighborhood place recommended to us by our friend who has been here several times before.

The atmosphere is an open restaurant. Seating outside of the restaurant in the warmer months too. They has tables in the middle, booths on the side, and a long bar located in the middle of the back which had about 20 seats. Tapestries and paintings covered the walls too. Very chill layout.

SInce it was lunch time, we had great service. We were waited on by three of four people throughout the course of the meal. The quality of the food and beer was good. The quesadilla we split was delicious and the snadwiched we both had hit the spot.

The beer for the moment comes from their sister brewery Mountain Sun located in downtown Boulder. Their have a brewing license, but were putting their operation together out back so they can start making their own batched sometime within the next six months. Don't get me wrong, they had 20+ beers on draft with 3 nitros too.

Overall, we were happy to hit up this place before we came back to Boston. Another cool neighborhood bar/brewery located on 17th street near City Park.
