Another big thank you to Caudalie for this one from a new brewery to me in my CANBIF box.
Appearance. Pours a very dark brown with a finger of khaki head.
Smell. Meaty smoke, some caramel and cola, and a touch of spicy and fruity yeast.
Taste. Nice peaty smoke, some spicy yeast and again a bit of cola with nice darker malts (possibly some spicy rye?).
Mouthfeel. Medium body, medium+ smooth carbonation.
Overall. Great stuff. Interesting and unique, and not overdone on the smoke. A great beer that I would love to have again!

Bottle: Poured a clear light dark color ale with a generous light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of wood with light whisky notes and some light tart notes is pretty singular. Taste is a mix of heavy woody notes with plenty of whisky with light tart and funky notes. There is also a bit of smoked malt noticeable. Body is light with great carbonation. Strange experiment that is enjoyable but I wouldn’t necessarily seek this on a regular basis.

Got this from Seblp in the 2013 CANBIF, had a fresh IPA from Pit Carbou and was not disappointed with this one, thanks man.
Pours a deep red brown with a modest head, quickly dissipating with audible fizziness. Smells of malt, slight yeast and some very slight smokiness.
The smokiness come through in the taste, but it is not overpowering at all. Yeast, malt and some acidity add to the flavor..
Moderate mouthfeel and overall, this is quite an enjoyable brew. I will be hunting down more of their offerings next time I'm through Quebec.

Poured from a 500ml. bottle, no freshness info.
Appearance: A dark body, blood-red tinges with an off-white. Good slathering on the sides with average retention.
Smell: Meaty smoke, flower petals, some peat.
Taste: Bit of ash, meat-like smoke, has a delicate whiskey flavor, peat, Belgian spices.
Mouthfeel: Good carbonation, feels alive and good.
Overall: A subtle, nuanced brew. Price point hurts a bit though but overall a nice try.
