I have been coming here for years but have never reviewed it.

This location is literally across from Fenway Park. When you first walk in, there is an area of tables to the left. Up the ramp the room then splits - a full out bar behind a partition and then seating on the left. I like the atmosphere - exposed brick, walls with bottles and growlers line the walls.
Service has been hit or miss, but this last time around our waitress was fantastic. She was attentive and stopped by enough, but not too much. She was quite knowledgeable about the beers, as well as the food.
Selection of beer and food is damn good. We got the Mako Shark Skewers - which was the first time that I had ever gotten them and hot DAMN they were fantastic. I got the South End burger, which was bacon and smoked gouda, and my friend got the Surf and Turf Sliders. Both were outstanding - and HUGE portions. Beer menu is solid. They have the Bunkerhill Blueberry, which still holds a soft spot with me, Kenmore Kolsch, Splendid Spliter Ale, Back Bay IPA, Beantown Nut Brown, Boston Common, Buck Eye Oatmeal Stout, and a couple of others. They are having an April special of APA's and Wheats right now.

I enjoy Beer Works, I may avoid it on game day, as the crowd gets rowdy, but overall it's a decent stop with some great food and solid beers. (1,324 characters)

Took my father-in-law and the family here after we toured Fenway Park for Fathers Day weekend festivities. The space was quite large with tables to the side upon entering, tables on the main floor, and a large bar area to one's right. The brewing area is actually wide open on the right side when you enter the space.

Overall atmosphere seemed relaxing and social with a dark paint/industrial design with several televisions adorned across the space. Since it was not a game day, there was plenty of room in this big restaurant, but I imagine its very crowded on game days.

Menu was generally pub-based. Several sandwich and burger options and some pub dinners. I had the Beer Works Turkey Tips, which were pretty good. I enjoyed the large portions and the turkey was nicely marinated and cooked. For drinks, I decided to have the Flight #2, which consisted of the UR IPL, the Deliberation Session IPA, the Contender IPA, and the Hoppy Brown.

Service was quite good. Our waitress was very nice and attentive to our needs. She even helped pick my meal since I was undecided.

Overall, I don't have much experience drinking or socializing near Fenway, but this seemed like a nice place to have a few drinks and eat before, during, or after a game. (1,252 characters)

Great place to grab beers before a sox game. Gets very crowded and hard to get beer but great selection. (104 characters)

The food is pretty good, the beer is decent. They brew a fairly large variety of beer, but none of it is very exciting. (119 characters)

I’ve only been here during Redsox games, but they do a terrific job of moving people through without you feeling rushed. Decent beers, pub type food. The food is all quite good. We have always had a good meal here. Recently my wife was disappointed that they took her favorite sandwich (Green Monstah) off the menu. They told her no problem, they will still make it for her. (381 characters)
