This is another of the overlooked beers from msubulldog25 that was sent to me in furtherance of The CANQuest (TM), placed in the reefer to cool and promptly forgotten in the face of a bunch of bottles and the unceasing nature of the school year. I'm back, however, and anxious to bring The CANQuest (TM) up to date.
From the CAN: "It's the little things that matter. The details, the intricacies, the things often left unnoticed. The fine tuned balance of this beer [CAN] be attributed to its completely Northwest ingredients and its obsession with being the best Pale Ale possible. Cheers - [undersigned] Joel"; "Crafted using Washington Hops and Grain".
The Crack was one of the loudest in recent memory and it seemed as though there was pressure under it although nothing popped out of the top. Time, it seems, for a nice inverted Glug which resulted in two foamy fingers of tawny head with decent retention. Color was a cloudy deep-amber. Unfiltered, perhaps? Nose was deeply hoppy, very pine-like begging the question of where does an APA end and an AIPA begin? Mouthfeel was medium and the taste had a lemony tartness, which was unexpected, but the label did portray a sliced lemon, so perhaps it was intentional. It was definitely NOT an AIPA! Finish was dry and left me with a lingering taste of lemon pith. Interesting, but not worth repeating.

A big shout out to woodychandler for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a light caramel color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mainly of hops, there are some malts present. Taste is well balanced malts and hops, some pine, bitter at the finish. Very drinkable. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.

22oz bottle (no wax dip -- I don't know where that picture came from) poured into two pint glasses
Pours with a giant, coarse, slowly fading beige head. Mostly clear, golden with a slight orange hue, medium amount of active carbonation. Smell is yeasty and mildly fruity with a slight spicy-hoppy aroma.
Taste is syrupy sweet with a lot of sort of citrus tartness and a lot of floral flavors. Slight metallic note.
Mouthfeel is somewhat flat, smooth. Overall, I think it's an OK pale ale.

Poured into a pint glass. I failed at the pour and started out with 3" of head. After it calmed down, it was a nice 1.5 fingers worth. Good lacing, beautiful color - sunset orange… a little cloudy. Smells very crisp, hoppy with a little bit of citrus. Very good taste. I usually prefer malt over hop, but I could drink this one easily... I would love this on a summer day. The mouthfeel is almost creamy yet still pretty carbonated. Overall, a very good beer.... will have this again.

appearance - head recedes quickly, mostly transparent orange
smell - catching a floral or citrus note
taste - very grassy, has a bit of an off taste
mouthfeel - light body, heavy carbonation
overall - the taste ruins it for me, not very delicious
