Poured from a 473mL can into a pint glass.

A - Pours a very dark color with some copper hint. The 2 finger off-white creamy head has a decent retention and leaves a bit of lacing on the glass.

S - Smell is very nice, mostly malty upfront but I pick out some good herbal notes and dark fruits besides.

T - Very soft and gentle taste. Malty, subtle hop notes and a nice roasted coffee and cacao finish.

M - Excellent mouthfeel. Surprisingly full bodied for a 5% ABV with an perfect carbonation and nice warming alcohol notes at finish.

O - A very nice beer with a good balance between flavors and an excellent drinkability. Worth seeking out!

The beer is dark brown in color. Some reds note on the edge. The foamy head is nice looking and very tenacious. It looks like burnt cream. The aroma is dominated by roasted malts. On the taste, some hazelnuts with traces of roasted malts. The finish is a little sugary... strange. Very thin in the mouth. Refreshing. Easy to drink. A good session mild ale for those who like their beers to be dark. Only downside is the sugary notes in the finish.

Got this in Quebec City.

Poured from a 473ml. can.

Appearance: A bit of a gusher with a massive mocha-colored head filling 3/4 of the glass. Creamy and bubbling. The light brown pour belies the actual color which is an opaque brown with a slight cherry wood color on the bottom. Chunks of lacing cling to the glass. Lookin' nice!

Smell: Reserved at first but roasted malt, baker's chocolate and coffee cream come out.

Taste: Some graininess and metallic tinges. Very mute at first. Mild coffee bitterness and some dark fruit come out but it's a stretch.

Mouthfeel: Way too active carbonation. Hurts the tongue a little. Calms down a tad to reveal some smoothness.

Overall: Again the watered down effect with the brewery though this offering is better. The carbonation is too strong and the flavors are not very present but there's something to build on here anyways.
