Golden appearance, white head 1/5" not too deep. No dry hopping.
Beer was bitter and not much else. It dropped some serious C hops yes, but how many times do you need to review a beer that is almost all bitterness and grapefruit like notes with some crystal malt? Its that beer, again.

Got this one at Bert's Bierhuis in Utrecht.
From a bomber into a snifter
APPEARANCE: Pours a three finger, fluffy white head with great retention. Perfectly clear safety orange with no carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a foamy cap with chunky lacing down the glass. A half wisp remains until the end leaving some decent lacing down the glass.
SMELL: Quite grainy and phenolic, like a Belgian strong pale ale. Green apples, spices, caramel and some grainy malts. Pears and cloves as well. Odd and definitely not to style.
TASTE: Follows the nose. Caramel, pilsner malts and some spicy notes up front. Green apples, pears and cloves at the swallow with a bold and lingering finish of green fruit, some bitter piney hops and spicy phenols a swell. Definitely odd and not satisfying.
PALATE: Medium body and carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down fine and finishes a touch dry. Some bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: A decent enough creation I guess, but not a good example of what it says on the label. If it says IPA, I expect it to have at least a few of the dominating characters of the style. This is more Belgian and phenolic than a hop craving quencher. Pass on this one for sure.

Southern Oregon Brewing Co. Nice Rack IPA.
A: a light amber-gold with short-lived head.
T: pretty sweet malt, bitter lupulin hops with a fruity sort of finish on the front of the tongue, I’m getting grapefruit and maybe mango or something but it’s very subtle. Funky yeast.
S: lupulinesque hops, light malt, maybe a whiff of passionfruit.
M: kinda watery. hops and malt, plus a little yeast funk, linger on front of tongue.
O: I liked this beer when I had it a while ago. It’s pretty good. Not amazing but good. The name is a pun on deer hunting and breasts, which is a tad sophomoric and a bit sexist. Bros brewing beer gonna be bros. 4.3/5.

Can from On the Fly Gasmart. A bit tame for a NW IPA, mellow aroma, more malt than hops. Pours out a nice medium amber with decent fluffy head. Taste again brings the malts in first, with a bit of hop funkiness halfway through. Finishes with some minor pine resin flavor.

Faint flowery aroma. Perfumey nose as you sip.Earthy, grassy flavors. I think of rose hips for some reason. Quite grainy and even sweet. Oatmeal with a touch of bitter hops. Flabby and wan. But quite gulpable and the aftertaste is certainly beery with that bitter edge. But actual hop flavors seem to be missing.
On the plus side, this is a lovely yellow brew with a long-lasting pile of suds in the shaker. A pleasant spritzy mouthfeel. I would say this is even less hoppy than a typical Pale Ale. Just make it with Lager yeast and call it an American Pilsener. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at

The definition of meh. Nothing memorable about its flavor, straight up awful body. GET THE BIG RACK IMPERIAL IPA, that's something actually worth drinking. Avoid nice rack ipa.

I bought a bomber of Nice Rack in a bottle shop. Poured in to a pint glass.
Pours a bright yellow gold color, slightly hazy, with a creamy stark white head.
Smell is both fruity and candy like. Hints of sweet citrus and caramel.
Taste is a sweet citrus flavor up front, with a caramel malt presence in the middle and then a dry bitter pine finish. Really quite good.
Mouthfeel is medium, slightly cloying.
Overall a good IPA. Bitter-sweet and wet for a mid-summer afternoon.

22 picked up at Brewer's Haven Boise tonight.... Paid about $4.50ish... Poured into my large tulip... clear light orange... nice persistent white head with good sheets of lacing. Good bitterness... seems like a "Session IPA"... very light maltiness never really recovers from the bitter bite and citrus hops scrape away everything and make your palate ready for the next sip... Light body with a pretty aggressive carbonation... The bottle goes away pretty quickly, not bad but could use some refinement, but I might buy it again.
