Poured a flat slightly hazy light brown with very little carbonation and nothing but a soap ring of a head.

The smell was very malty and sweet with a touch of yeastyness.

The flavor was ok with a strong malt backbone and some nice sweet fruit notes coming through, but there was a bit of a sour off taste as well that made this go from good to average.

The mouthfeel was heavy and warm.

Ok, will have to try again in the future and see if maybe I just got an off batch.

On tap at the brewery, review from written notes.
This is a revival beer, Holiday Bock was originally produced at the Potosi Brewery from the 1950s until the brewery closed in 1972.

Chilled pint arrives with a creamy head of offwhite foam, the body is a high clarity copper color. Malty nose, a little bit of funky grain scent from the specialty malt, nutty and a little like homebrew. Malt forward flavors, nutty, toasty, lightly bitter in the middle and finish. Not sweet, fairly dry thankfully. Medium to light bodied, easy enough to make the pint last through a meal, but honestly nothing special.

Thanks to KeefD for sharing this one. It pours a clear light brown color. The head is a firm cap of foam that recedes slowly into nice lacing. The aroma is malty with a lot of caramel, and nuts with hints of cherry. The taste is straight forward...caramel and nuts and nothing else. The mouthfeel is medium-full bodied with appropriately low carbonation. Overall, this is a decent bock, but it lacks complexity, and quickly becomes boring.

This beer is a every so slightly hazy dark amber/light brown color with a thin off-white head. The aroma is moderately malty, nutty with a hint of roast. The flavor is moderately malty as well, much like the aroma with a medium-low hop bitterness and low, but apparent hop flavor. Overall this is a well made bock, hop presence is likely on the upper end of the style but not out of style, my 2nd favorite of theirs.

Pretty good beer! Got this bottle a few months ago at the brew pub in Potosi. Poured a small to medium very light tan head and no lace. Color is a clear medium amber. Aroma is malty and fresh beer with a hint of hop. Flavor is malty, a bit roasty, caramel, toffee and a bit of hop. Good body and carbonation. Finish is a touch sweet, but still pretty good. Depending on mood, could be a session.

Nice 22oz growler.

I poured this into an alt glass and noticed a nice frothy head off white in color. Some lacing and head remained as I drank this. It is a dark clear brown in color.

Nose is earthy with a little yeast.

Taste is sweet dark fruit and spice. Some good doses of malt as well. Mouth feel is nice with a slightly dry finish. Very easy to drink and I found this to be a nice balanced beer. I did not see any of the bad qualities some other reviewers noticed, which means I at least got a good batch!!

Pours very dark for a bock, opaque auburn with a large beige head.

Smells like sugar and wood. Chocolate, big bock malt. Smooth and strong, really everything you can reasonably hope for.

Tastes solid, just like it smells. Crisp bockmalt, big chocolate nodes, dry hops at the end and a slight burn.
