Has a pleasant malty smell upon pouring. Pours a light amber color, very light foam on it. Carbonation is good and works great with the maltyness of this beer. The hops are very subtle in this one. It has a very bready mouth feel, and the maltyness is throught the roof. Just a hint of hops at the finish. I really enjoyed this beer. Great for a session, but beware of the 6.5% abv. I will be buying this one again for sure. It really stuck with me the rest of the night and since its readily available for me (brewed just a few miles away) I will probably keep a few around in the fridge.

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of sweet malt, pale malt, hint of hop, hint of yeast, but a hint of butterscotch. Fits the style of an English Pale Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, pale malt, hint of hop, hint of yeast, but a hint of butterscotch. Overall, weak appearance, aroma, body, and blend.

I was drinking these in between some other beers this weekend, and unfortunately this Potosi Cave Ale was my least favorite. It is very malty, but the malt flavor is not good. Chewed up bubblegum, wet paper, stale tasting, squishy grainy feel, and very little if any hop presence. This was a new six pack, not old or stored. Not a very good English Pale.
