Reddish amber in color with scant lacing throughout.
Clean sweet malt aroma with very earthy scant hop. Moderate grainy sweetness. Smells like beer.
Sweet onrush of malty goodness. Mild fruityness like Cocoa Pebbles. Hop leaf bite with a pine finish.
Creamy and maybe buttery slickness. Finishes dry enough though. Carbonation is spectacular throughout.
I agree overall a nice BBQ drinking brew to be shared among many. Not something I would search out but would accept willingly.

Pure Malt Cave ale pours a reddish copper like color with no head. There is a horribly over sweet, pear like aromas. The taste is very sweet, some pear like notes, very grainy flavors too. Way too sweet, but weaker flavors, which may be good. Overall taste like sweet water, strange after taste, but not the worst.

I found this at the Binny's store in Bloomingdale, IL. Bought it as part of a build-your-own six pack for $9.99, making this single 12oz bottle $1.67. No freshness date.
The beer poured a slight;y hazed golden/orange color and made a ½-finger of white head that dissipated in less than 30 seconds. I also did not get any lacing on my glass.
The taste is all malt and delicious. Bready and caramel flavors dominate along with a touch of butter. At just 10 IBU's, the hops are not noticeable to me and there wasn't a trace of hop botterness. Still it was pretty tasty.
Smooth, creamy, and medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Sweet without being cloying. I enjoyed it.

A: Clear medium amber body with a finger of off-white head. Mediocre retention and lacing. Pretty average.
S: Straightforward, robust pale malt. Bread crust, cracker, and grain husk. A hint of caramel sweetness and some faint fruity hops. Solid.
T: Follows the nose; more malt than hops, but never too sweet. Long, lightly bitter finish. Nothing exciting, but tasty all the same.
M: Fairly light bodied and spritzy. A little too superficial to match the flavor.
O: Forgettable but enjoyable.
