poured from bottle to an imperial sam adams glass.

a- pours ruby dark brown with enough light to be able to see through it. half inch of head fades quickly with almost no lacing

s- bready doughy malt and some nutty character. slight caramel sweetness. sort of underwhelming

t- again with the biscuit maltiness and slight nutty flavors - toasted almond maybe. some more roasted charred malt on the finish with a little hop bitterness

m- creamy enough mouthfeel but sort of thin overall

overall, a slightly below average porter. just sort of light on all accounts. I am really trying to find something i really love from potosi, but they are just sort of underwhelming.

Grand Dancer Porter pours a dark amber color, almost black , with a nice lacing head. There is a sweet and slightly smokey aroma. The taste has some roasted malt flavors, with hints of smokes, and a sweeter aftertaste. Pretty watery and light. Overall it would be a good interesting porter, but the flavors are too light.

Nothing to get excited about and not to be avoided either.
Appears dark brown with tan head of 1/4in or less that dissipates quickly--within a minute or three. Pours thin, maybe slightly more viscous than a regular scotch ale?
Smells of hops and caramel malt--no surprises or complexity there. But not much if any chocolate.
Taste is same as expected from the aroma---some hop bitterness with burnt toast finish and little or no chocolate notes as in brewery description.
Mouthfeel is thinner than a porter, in my opinion. Some citrus bite but leaves quickly and slight drying in the finish with no oiliness.

Overall it's not bad but not exciting or worth searching for...

A - rigorous pour reveals a cola-like brown body, thin creamy tan head
S - chocolate malts, vanilla, but really not much else
T - more chocolate here, faint roastiness, caramel, earthy hops
M - lighter than medium body, modest carbonation, piny bitterness lingers a bit
O - decent American Porter. Nothing extravagant and very straight forward, good example of the style.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

A - Great tan head holds a solid cap. Dark brown in color but easily transparent showing ruby highlights with perfect clarity. Some spots of lacing down the glass.

S - Chocolate is pretty mild, touch of coffee roast. Mellow caramel tones. Not necessarily jumping from the glass.

T - Nice layer of rich caramel malt almost nearing some raisin qualities. Smooth chocolate is mild here as well. Barely sweet throughout. Leaves with a toasty flavor.

M - Medium-full body, medium-light carbonation, semi-sweet.

O - Very balanced for the style. Looks great, lacks some oomph from aroma. Taste is unoffending staying very drinkable considering a little fuller body. Good for a try, perfect "drink a whole 6-pack" type of beer.
