The Devils Den is an excellent little bar in the Bella Vista neighborhood of Philadelphia, great for any season or occasion. On a cold winter night you can stop by to have a growler filled and sit by a warm fire, roaring in the fireplace. During the spring/summer you can sit by the open bay windows and enjoy a cool breeze while sampling a beer flight. The Devils Den has just what you need for any occasion.

I, myself have been here many times for brunch, dinner, or just to have a growler filled. The bar has a very cozy feel to it as the walls are exposed brick with a wooden finish and a wooden fireplace. Everything is very clean and new. One can relax at the bar and leaf through the multi paged draft and bottle menu. Or you can do what I do and stare longingly at the mini fridges filled with bottles of Cantillon or other rare delights. There are also some small tables around the barroom or a dinning room opposite the bar one can sit down with friends and "kick up your heels.".

The bartenders and wait staff are very friendly, helpful, and will accommodate any request you may have.

As far as beer and food selection go, the Devils Den has 17 taps (German, English, Belgian and American Craft) that rotate often. Any tap can be served into a growler for takeout, or can be mixed and sampled as a beer flight for the indecisive. The bottle list is long and features many different styles from around the world and plenty of wine too. In terms of meals all of the brunch menu is delicious as well as the coffee they serve. For lunch and dinner you cannot go wrong with the mussels, and I will also recommend the chicken scaloppini sandwich which is "off the charts".

Overall a very cool gastropub/beer bar that is moderately priced, with a friendly staff and great selection. If you happen to be in town make sure you stop in.

Went here for Beer/brunch. Great selection of beers and they do some cool flights. Atmosphere is pretty cool, brick hardwood, country feel. Have some good beers on the bottle list and the food was excellent. Def would comeback for lunch dinner or drinks...
