Had lunch and a few beers at the bar here. Nice clean place with a nice atmosphere. The taps were many but the beer list very i nacurate. Had to decide by just looking at the taps. The bartenders were both beer geeks who seemed to know their beer right up until they pulled the frosted glass out of the freezer.Which says to me that they knew how to serve beer but management is clueless.prices were a little high and not even listed on the menu. You will find out the price when you get the bill. Its a shame because this place is set up well for a great experience but its poorly managed because they don't tell you prices up front on the menu and they serve high quality craft beer in a frosted glass. That being said it's still a good place for the area it's in because there's only taco mac to compete with.If a well run craft beer bar were to open nearby they could easily eat summit's lunch.

A big group of us hit up Summits Wayside Tavern in Woodstock about a month and a half ago for our buddy's birthday.

A - The patio was great and unlike a lot of restaurants where the server forgets you're out there, ours was running back and forth like a mad woman for us. The inside was dowsed in trendy flair and the bar sported several TV's that were very reminiscent of Taco Mac. The taps looked great and their beer fridges were setup in a way that you could walk right up and take a peak (always nice).

Q - Overall quality and experience was pretty good.

S - Our service was excellent with one exception that shouldn't really count against. (Read Selection)

Sel - When we first arrived we all went grabbing for the beer menu which was gigantic. They had it broken down by bottle, draght, region, and style which was very cool. We all went fishing for some rare stuff we had been looking for and some of us were stoked when we found them on the list. Our hearts sank when the waitress told us that the list was over a year old and included pretty much everything they had ever had and that most of the list wouldn't be available. This turned into a bit of a hassle because the waitress had to run back and forth to the bar asked if they had anything in stock. This quickly got old. I did end up with a Dogfish Head Burton Baton [bottle] (ridiculously fantastic).

F - Food was decent. Some of the reviews I read elsewhere really put down the food. Honestly, it's nothing to write home about but it was certainly above average.

V - Prices were actually pretty reasonable for the beer. If anything I would say their food was a dollar or two high.

Open about 1 year, this location is 2 miles west of I575 in Woodstock. Cool brick wall on the left-side with flags hanging from ceiling. Bar on right-side with 150 taps. Where to start...Rodenbach, Celebrator, 13 Rogue, 4 Sierra, 3 Victory, 3 Spaten, 2 Franzi, 2 Weinstephen...plenty of abc/euro lager too. Chilled pint glasses, which really surprise me for the number of years Summit's has been serving exceptional craft beer.
Today they have a cask of Rogue Mogul which is f'in tasty. Bison Mont Bleu burger was good, but would have preferred med-rare which they would not do. However, the menu is very diverse, and offers kobe beef from snake river farms. Excellent wings and their grouper sandwich rocks. Service is pretty good and staff knowledge on the beer.

For years I have enjoyed the hospitality of the Summit Wayside Taverns or the old Taco Mac as they were known. Loved the old Roswell Road location and was really looking forward to visiting the new Woodstock location. My wife and I ate dinner there on Thursday night. Food was great, atmosphere and decor is fine and our server was wonderful under very frustrating conditions. The beer "book" with all the selections had very little resemblance to the actual offerings on tap. Our server shuttled back and forth to the bar many times only to return with a "sorry, we are out of that one too" reply. I'd really love to see a return to the old, frequently updated, single page of offerings over the much more informational, but out of date, beer book. If you go to Woodstock, sit at the bar and read the tap handles. Its the only way to go.

I like this place as well as any in the ATL area. I have been impressed with their knowledge of the draft and bottles on hand and they have provided good recommendations. The recent Octoberfest promotion with their German style food and pint of the day have been great. Overall the food menu is good with burgers and wings-my favorite side is either the garlic fries or blue cheese fries. The draft and bottle selection is as varied and plentiful as in the area. I have enjoyed their occasional cask offerings and am looking forward to the "breakfast" in November, and the 'cheese and beer" pairings in December.

The fourth in the Summits family (counting the closed Sandy Springs location) is very nice, and worth the drive from Atlanta. Interior is open and inviting, with a fairly long bar and plenty of booths and tables, as well as a semi-private room that could serve for a party or other gathering. With over 100 beers on tap and over 400 in bottles, they can satisfy any beer connoisseur's tastes. I strongly recommend joining their Passport Club, not only to demonstrate willingness to try many different beers, but also to have plenty of grist for Beer Advocate.

Food is darned good, if not outstanding. Waitstaff is pleasant and service is fairly quick. Parking is plentiful. Definitely worth not just visiting, but patronizing.
