Good old Laguna Beach. I was born there in the early 80s and man has it changed. Anyways, here's my formal review of this place. It was crowded when we got there, but luckily we were squeezed into a table.

Leffe, Stella, and one other inbev offering were on tap, as well as Chimay, Maredsous 8, and something else.

(Un?)fortunately I'm the only beer geek of my friends, so while they all got the trendy Stella, I got a pint of Chimay, to stares from my friends. Tasted very good. Tons of nice bottled stuff available as well. We ate a little bit, and the food was decent. Beer seemed expensive ($8 for my .25l) but hey, this is Laguna Beach.. supposedly there is a mussel dish that is absolute amazing, but they were out of it when we got there, which sucked because that was half the reason we went.

I don't usually get belgian beer when I go out, so I don't know if these prices are typical of around here, so unless you really want a Belgian beer, I'd go somewhere else. Typical so-cal OC "beautiful people's club" clientele. Not really my scene, but made for some interesting watching. Definitely worth checking out at least once. Where else you going to get Chimay on tap around these parts?

A great little Belgian restaurant in downtown Laguna Beach with a very good Belgian beer selection. They have six beers on tap and another twenty or so available by the bottle. Everything is served in the proper glassware. The food is good as well with an emphasis on Belgian/French food. It gets pretty crowded on weekend nights. They also have a small table on the street where you can enjoy a Belgian beer and watch the beautiful people of Laguna Beach stroll by. If you're looking to have a nice Belgian meal and accompany it with a good selection of Belgian beer, then check out Brussels Bistro.

In a city filled with small, highly appealing restaurants in its downtown core, Brussels Bistro is a welcoming addition to the area by providing Belgian-styled food and Belgain beer. The bistro sits below street level and takes up very little space. Me and my friend came down tonight to check out the place for dinner, and we walked away feeling very satisfied.

Beer: The quantity is limited to six taps (Stella, Hoegaarden, Leffe Blond, Affligem Blond, Chimay White, Mardesous 8) and about two dozen bottles (examples: Duvel, Lindemans, De Koninick, Westmalle, Rochefort, Kwak). We split a magnum of Delirium, which was gracefully poured into two tulip glasses. The beer itself was at the right temperature, and tasted great.

Food: I ordered Belgium's national dish of mussles and french fries. The mussles were great, but the fries weren't much better than a chain restaurant's frozen fries thrown into a fryer. I was expecting fresh cut pomme frites. My friend enjoyed his dish of alfredo pasta with shrimp and smoked salmon.

Nothing earth shattering, but a nice place to eat and drink. It's something I would seek out once in a while.

Smack dab in the middle of trendy Laguna, Brussels Bistro offers a little slice of Belgium. The beer offerings are not staggering; there isn't anything here you can't get at Hi Time. However, the beer is served correctly. I won't replicate the list of beers, which are fully described in other reviews. The ambiance is nice, I really did feel like I was in Belgium.

My wife and I started with a special melted brie in honey as appetizer. It was amazing. I ordered the mussels in curry and they were also great.

It's a little pricy. We showed up around 6pm on a Saturday and by 6:30 the place was packed
