Pours gold with a quickly fading white head.
Nose shows soft spicy hops, faint cooked vegetables and very light malt.
Flavours include sweet bready malt, spicy hops and cardboard. Pretty plain.
Way too much carbonation.
Nothing particularly interesting stuff.

Bottle: standard brown 330mL bottle, old-school medicinal-style label. A nice package.

Appearance: golden yellow with a steady stream of carbonation. A small head pops up and settles to a broken cap. Decent looking.

Aroma: not a great deal going on here - some standard light malts with a touch of floral hops.

Taste: follows the nose, but with some vegetal backing. Not brilliant, but not terrible.

Aftertaste: doff pretty quickly, but it is a lager. Just means you'll have to drink it as a sessional, which is fine by me.

Mouth feel: not quite so sure about the mouth feel - a bit too much carbonation. Light in body though, which is good.

Overall: as I was drinking this beer down I thought "well, there you go. A decent but not over-brilliant lager. 6.5 - 7 out of 10." And then I noticed that the price was AU$64 a case! What a joke. This one simply ain't worth it. Also found out it is de Bortoli's beer arm - another example of a wine producer brewing ordinary beer and charging for a boutique. The beer itself is alright, but nowhere near worth the asking price.
