It looks like a stout, but tastes like stale coffee. Bleh.

this is really bold and tasty coffee stout, awesome for chilly dark wintery evenings, thanks to my brother for picking up a growler fresh from the brewery to share, it really hit the mark in this cold weather context. its jet black, high luster, and almost intimidatingly dark, still lively in this format. the aroma is coffee before beer, but plenty of dark roasty malt in the mix too. tons of coffee, also dark roasted and bitter black to me here, some molasses earthy character and sugars behind it, a baked complexion, hearty as can be, on the very dark end of the spectrum, rare for its modest abv. lots of bitter, almost burnt barley in the flavor, and this immediately permeates deep into my tongue, i taste this long after each drag i take. coffee leads the way, a dark character to it, i know its locally roasted and its obviously high quality, but id love to know where the beans are from, it has that wet sort of volcanic mineral volcanic character of a sumatra bean, but thats just a guess. i like how this is bitter, even a little acidic from the coffee, way more robust than i thought it would be for some reason, its almost daring, polarizing, but i love it. there is a hint of smoke to this, light raisin and even black pepper character as well, i like the middle better than the finish, and it warms up just a little heavy and harsh, but i prefer it on this end of the spectrum this time of year. my first beer from these guys in years, super tasty, great showcase of a really good coffee too. id love this in the morning. thanks again to my brother from procuring, this was a treat!

Solid coffee stout for a $5 bomber, had it on tap at the finger lakes beer fest.. Was pretty note worthy.

Stale french roast coffee from a can in a thin, overly sweet brew that I keep forgetting I hate. And its not often I actively dislike a beer, let alone in such strong terms.

Poured from a 22 oz bomber in to a Duvel tulip.
A- Pretty much jet black, but doesn't pour super thick. A short tan head fades to a ring of lace.
S- Yup.. roasted coffee. Not much more going on here.
T- Again, a ton of coffee. a little difficult to tell what else is going on. Just a bit of dark chocolate comes through as it warms. A little bit of sour characteristic as well.
M- Medium light body and moderately carbonated.
O- Not bad. Almost on par with DFH Chicory Stout.
