Stopped in after touring the brewery for some more NG beer and food. For a Saturday we were lucky to get a table quickly (only two of us). People with large groups (6 or more) had to wait from 1.5 to 2 hours for a table. I had a pint of Scream - don't recall what my wife had. The food was excellent - I had a Flank Steak Sandwich and my wife had the Pork Schnitzel Sandwich. I heard so much about the Roesti but was let down by its lack of flavor. Overall this is a great spot for some good food and beer with a great atmosphere.

I frequent New Glarus 5-10 times a year. I only eat somewhere other than Glarner Stube if they are closed or if we are just driving through to Madison. I have had many things on the menu and have liked them all. You must, and I mean must, always have cheese curds for appetizer. Price is a little high for some of the Swiss dishes, but you can't get these dishes most places. Glarner Stube has consistently good quality food and a decent selection of New Glarus beers on tap. You shouldn't ask for much more in a small town like that. Prost!

Outstanding experience. After some drinks at the NG Brewery, I stopped here for a light dinner. I am told that the prime rib and potatoes are excellent, but I only made it through a cheese platter and a cheese fondue before feeling fully satiated. The bar itself has a smooth copper surface, and the overall ambience is similar to those you find in northern Wisconsin. The cheese platter featured nuts instead of crackers, and featured some sharp, smoky selections. No havarti, no milds. This is cheese-lover's cheese. The fondue consisted of emmentaler and white wine.
Also of note is a wide array of New Glarus beers. If you are in town and the brewery is already closed (as they are known to do at 4pm), fear not, because this destination will fulfill all of those desires that brought you to New Glarus in the first place.
