Pours golden with a substantive lasting head. Neutral aroma. Scary bottle as moisture beads outside the cork. Average mouthfeel. Dirty blonde that degenerates into yeast and alcohol, a tad of spice and fruit and more would have been better. not great drinkability.Bottle in trade with West Coast rater.

On tap at Bootlegger’s Brewery in Fullerton, CA.

Pours a clear honey orange with a tan head that fades to nothing. No lacing on this one. Smell is of grain, malt, spice, and yeast. Taste is much the same with a mild medicinal bitterness after each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but I like the way it smells over the way it tastes.

Taste - Hops play in a citrusy sweet way, but its very smooth. I get notes of apricot among the hops...and the rest just tastes like a really good golden Belgian ale.

Overall - I really like this one. This is a great spring/summer beer, its very refreshing and easy drinking. I think bootleggers has a trend of making beers with high alcoholic content, but keeping them very smooth and easy drinks...

Poured on-tap at Taco Asylum. Reviewed from notes.

A- No real head to speak of, ruby red and orangish color.

S- Fruity and light hops. Cherry and lemon notes present.

T- Hoppy and very, very fruity! Lemon and plum maybe? Those flavors take over. Tart and citrusy.

M- Very light bodied and lightly carbonated.

O- Very drinkable and fruity. Lovely lighter beer for such a strong one.

first extra from my first trade, thanks ncmussell.

Pours a light amber color with an extremely fizzy, soda like, head that recedes quickly. The aroma starts out with a strong lemony smell, followed by some belgian yeast spiciness. In the background there is a fair amount of biscuity/old bread smell. The taste is more of the same but the thin body sort of washes out the taste for me. Overall it was an interesting beer and had some interesting belgian smells going on in the nose but the body just didn't properly support the beer.

Draft at the brewery.

Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a one finger white head that quickly fades into a lasting ring. Spotty lacing left behind.

Slightly spicy aroma with some pepper and coriander as well as prominent bready yeast and subtle light fruit. Hints of crisp apple and pear.

Medium bodies  with zesty spice and subtle hops along with bready yeast, pale malt and light fruit.  Hints of pepper and coriander along with some apple, pear and biscuit. Thin and kind of average.

Pours a cloudy dark honey, with a big off-white head.

Right off the bat, it smells like a Belgian, yeast, grassy, wheaty. Hints of spice and fruit in the background.

Tastes light, fruity, a hint of apricot and coriander. Very complex. Has some sweet malt character.

Feels super carbonated, yet smooth. Very light as it evaporates on the tongue, and doesn't even feel like 8.5%.

Overall, I didn't know what to expect until I opened and smelled the almost wheaty Belgian aspect. Great complex flavor makes this a great beer to have, and easy to drink.
