Picked up a few bottles of this back in the day when knuckle sandwich was the hot ticket. Pours black, has a tan head about 1/2" deep. Aroma imparted both roasted malt and a light chili pepper presence. Wouldn't really describe it as a coffee beer at this point, the nose didn't pop much of anything coffee, the only aspect of it I was receiving seemed to be from the roasted malt moreso than an actual coffee addition.
Taste showed off more of the roasted malt and average amount of heat from the peppers. A slight acrid bitterness in there. Kind of getting comparisons to Stone's chipotle smoked porter at this point. This seems to have a heftier roast quotient and bitterness, that other one was a bit smoother. Good to let this beer warm up a bit, it gets better and more flavorful. Not a bad effort, does nothing wrong.

Amazing stout with strong coffee notes with hint of chipotle spice. Perfect brew at the moment after 8 hours Disneyland, served at CA Adventure.

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass. No obvious bottle dating.
Deep mahogany red body color, a little wet looking out of the bottle with not much form and body to it. Head creation is minimal, barely half a finger of tan fine bubbles which quickly dissolves. Decent ringed creamy looking collar left and a see through top.
Aroma is quite invigorating. Mild chili warmth with a coffee angle that goes for the chocolate side mostly. There's a sense of very good charring pepper here and some possible scoville classic heat coming but remains to be seen. Decent and solid.
Palate manages the basics and enjoyably. Nice light roast with a great accent of pepper and char that compliment the mid palate real nicely. Finish is a little wet but also gets into some cola like sweetness which while is a nice balance also seems to cheapen the flavor slightly. Light sense of milk chocolate followed with simple drip coffee roast also warm up in the palate later as well.
A real nice take with solid integrated flavors of chipotle and coffee. More of a chocolate angle and the chipotle comes out more like hot pepper as opposed to roast and smoke, but it's done simply and nicely in the beer. Not mind blowing, but solid brew.

Clear black colored beer with a tiny brown colored head.
Smells of Chile pepper and smoke. Smells sweet and fruity. Some patent malt and a little coffee, but this is scented of pepper.
Starts out mildly sweet and slightly metallic. Taste of lactose, didn't expect a Milk Stout. Light pepper taste and a mild smokiness. Not much heat at all.
Mouthfeel is OK.
Overall a disappointment, I expected more.

I loved this beer. It tasted just like really nice iced coffee. There wasn't a ton of pepper on the nose of taste which was a little disappointing, but I still really enjoyed this one a lot.
