Sampled 1/29 at the brewery. One of the 10 pilot batches that are going on in the next few days.

Pours hazy dark organge, bordering on red, creamy off-white head, decent lacing and retention.

Aroma is sugar, caramelized sugar, chocolate, bread, and mildly piney.

Flavor is caramel, stangely of dried wood (Lincoln Logs came to mind), bitter dark chocolate, some Belgian yeast, and some booze. The aftertaste lingers a long while. Fairly bitter too.

Body is light/medium and drinkability is present.

On-tap at Bootlegger's

A: The beer pours (shockingly) amber/red in color with a nice creamy off-white head.

S: Wow, what a strange nose. Intensely tropical, almost to the point of Malibu "rum". I get a ton of coconut, pineapple, and mango on the aroma. Very sweet and a bit sugary, but quite nice. To make matters even stranger, I get some chocolate and caramel.

T: More of the same as I drink the beer. Sweet tropical fruits provide a really interesting flavor. Coconut and pineapple seem to once again be the dominant flavors. There's a bit of grassy hops and some caramel malt and sugar to go with it.

M: The body is medium with a moderate carbonation. Despite the sweetness, there is a slightly dry bite to the finish.

D: Funny how though t0rin0 and I were drinking this same beer at the same time, we got vastly different experiences. I thought this was one of the winners of the pilot batches.
