Beer from Gent, one of the main cities in Flanders.

Pale golden colour, massive white head, lively carbonation. Pouring out the bottle, the clear ale becomes cloudy.
Smell of floral and citric notes.
Taste typical of belgian strong ale: bittersweet with a mild spicy finish.
Very smooth indeed. No harshness from alcohol at all.

Overall, it's one of the best pale ales I've tasted in a while. Compare it to Duvel or Westmalle as a whole, and it's perhaps better.

Commercial name in Spain: Gruit 330ml bottle. Wine glass. Golden color & clear appearance. White & foamy crown showing fairly good retention. Intense herbal aroma, hints of fresh bread, very subtle smoky notes & Belgian yeast. Enters smooth & malty. Medium to full body. Moderate carbonation. Oily to watery texture. Hints of smoke & clean bitterness in the middle linger into a dry finish. Gentle warming sensation on the aftertaste. Smooth & well balanced !!

On tap.
Loose webby froth over lager gold. 3.75
Powdery grain, dough, and flowers - no hops. 3.75
Corny sweetness, some graininess, lots of flowers, and a bit of spice, but also a big whack of butterscotch. 3.25
Almost medium, sticky, round. 3.75

Sweet to the point of cloying, no big yeast character, and short on hops. Plus has some DMS and diacetyl going on. Doesn’t taste 9%, so there’s that. So much for drinking local in Ghent. 3.5

A: Golden colour (duvel like), decent amount of carbonation rising up, good thick and dense white head;

S: Lemon, orange peal, some yeast and hops, and something floral

T: a lot of banana, the hops are there, some honey, lots of alcohol, the combination doesn't really work for me

M: Good carbonation, dry, too alcoholic

O: This just isn't my cup of tea, hurts to bring down a homebeer
