Black Market is very excited about the future release of our Tradecraft Series. Based off of our wildly popular 1945 Berliner Weisse, we will be introducing this blackberry flavored sour that will be conveniently packaged is these stylish 6-pack cans. These sours are light and refreshingly tart, without the higher alcohol content typically found in many craft beers.

Black Market's Tradecraft Blackberry Sour. ABV unstated.
A: Lovely medium-dark pink, with about a finger and a half of light pink head. Pinkish-white in the dimple. Faint sheeting; almost no lacing. Tons of tiny, shimmery bubbles slide around the inside of the glass, as it's tipped around.
S: Blackberry/black raspberry and cream aroma, with a slight menthol coolness. Moderate sweet tart note.
T/MF: Very cool mouthfeel, with a milder wash of acidity. Leaves a light blackberry flavor behind, after swallowing. Relatively dry. Sharper, tingly acidity towards the front of the tongue. Faint seed bitterness towards mid-tongue.
Poured from a 22 oz. bottle, into a Belgian tulip glass.

Barfy McBarface should be the name of this beer. OK, I've had worse, but its definitely in the like worst 10% of beers I've ever had.
Pours a mixture of yellow, pink and purple, thin head can't hold up. Aroma is vinegar. Fuck that.
Taste sucks too, more vinegar, almost no malt, sourness didn't take hold, not tart, just comes off as spoiled. Blackberry is an after thought, there's just a bunch of garbage ahead of it that obscures it.
I like their ipas, but their kettle berlinners thus far are shit. Makes me wonder if they dry hopped this with feet and butter as well.

aside from a slightly weird vinegar acid nose, there is really nothing at all wrong with this beer from a normal conventional sour beer context, there is just something about it that doesnt really move me. a little pink and a little cloudy, looks like some crystal malts in here too on top of the fruit giving it some color. head is white and has nice rise and retention. aroma of tangy blackberries, residual sugar, and wheaty thickness, cereal, sort of stale, not sure. the flavor matches, but the fruit comes out mostly towards the finish, with something a little cheesy and weird before that. acidity is real developed and strong, almost malic in its intensity, but its quickly balanced by the grain. i like it having a little more body, but something just isnt all the way there here, like sort of a garage homebrew, it has potential but hasnt found its refined stride all the way yet. one of the first beers i have had from these guys, somewhat more ambitious than it is good, but a cool little something to dip into on a saturday afternoon with close friends.

Poured a cloudy ruby red body with one finger of creamy, thick, reddish white head. Overall impression of appearance is of a nice fruited Berliner Weisse. Scents of sour lactic acid, yogurt-like, blackberry, wheat malt mingles with the sourness to resemble sourdough and light tart apple. Overall impression of aroma is of a nice Berliner Weisse, much like their 1945, with a pleasant aroma of blackberries added. A wonderfully refreshing aroma. Flavor begins tart with a lovely clean lactic, yogurt-like character with moderate flavors of tart blackberries and some light grainy wheat malt. Middle increases tart blackberry flavors while sustaining a lively lactic acid sourness and some bready and grainy wheat at light levels. Finish is dry with a bright tart blackberry flavor mingling with high levels of clean lactic sourness and a tinge of sourdough bread. Aftertaste is tart, clean lactic acid and berries with a grainy, bready wheat malt end over time. Overall impression of flavor is of a near perfect Berliner Weisse, as their 1945 is, mingled with the lovely bright fruitiness of blackberries to create a wonderfully refreshing take on the style. Mouthfeel is light bodied with high, effervescent carbonation and a tart, puckering, acidic feel. Overall impression of mouthfeel is of a perfect Berliner Weisse. Overall this is a fantastic light sour at a fantastic price.
