This is a great IPA. I am a fan of West coast citrusy IPA's with the traditional IPA punch.
This IPA has all the above but is also smooth, its like the best of both worlds. Personally I LOVE this IPA, wish they had 6 packs..well done Black Market!!
If you are an IPA fan this is 100% worth trying, a really great Brew!
PS- some of my other favorite "go to" IPA's include Pliney the Elder, Racer 5 and Green Flash. This IPA fits perfectly (IMO) with the above mentioned.

Poured into a Chuckanut pint glass. Pours a medium bronze amber with a half finger white head with good retention and lacing. Nice caramel malt with piney and citrus hops and light rye. Flavor follows aroma with a good caramel malt supporting bright citrus and piney hops. Light grapefruit and a hint of spicy rye. Good mouth feel with a medium body with pleasant creaminess, more than expected from an IPA. A tasty rye IPA with well selected hops supported by a substantial malt body and a good touch of rye, all well balanced. Enjoyable.

Popped the top of the can only to get some overflow, quickly poured into a globe glass resulting in some out of control head, rising up four fingers leaving some awesome spider web lacing on the glass. This follows poor head retention. Lacing only gets better through the drink.
Malty with toasted bread, somewhat nutty and a soft tone of vinous fruit and earthy spiciness indicating rye. Hops are subdued with a makeup largely of pine, some weak citrus and earthiness.
I am aghast at the lack of hops in this "IPA". Malty with caramel, stale bread and maybe a smidge of rye, lightly spicy as the flavor follows through. Hops are vegetative and herbal with bitter earthiness that lingers well after the drink. Ointment and mineral flavor to finish.
Medium body, surprisingly watery and flat feel despite the large indication of carbonation. Bitterness gives the impression of drying but the flavors that are left behind are unpleasant.
Pretty looking beer, leaves nice lacing though the excessive foaming upon the pour was a concern. Aroma gave no indication of anything off but really this beer is sloppy, earthy and an alpha acids swamp. I was always on the fence about Black Market, this beer is strike two.
