Let me prefix this review by saying that, although I am from Alabama, I am not some bandwagon beer rater. I will fairly rate ANY and EVERY beer I taste regardless if where it is brewed.
Poured from a 12oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours a semi-hazy copper color with a huge off-white head with great retention and lacing. If you see people complaining about lack of lacing or head, they either poured wrong or didnt get it fresh. This pours perfectly.
Smells like fresh apricots at first. After a few more smells I pick up grapefruit. Some alcohol. Pine notes and some musty hops but very VERY fresh.
Taste is amazing. I'm not an IPA guy. And this is my first double IPA but WOW. Perfectly balanced. Fresh grapefruit at first and then the hops begin to take over. Piney, citrus hops. Resin and pine is alll finish. Alcohol is noted, but not overbearing at all.
Perfectly carbonated. Resin really coats the mouth and leaves that pine feel and taste in the back of the throat.
This beer is great. Would definitely buy again and will. Really took for granted how readily available this is when it ships but man, this is such a great beer. Well worth the try.

Appearance: Arrives with a clear amber color capped by a nice head that leaves a fair amount of lacing
Smell: Caramel and resinous hop tones; more piney than citrusy
Taste: Caramel sweetness on the front end with a growing resinous bitterness; piney and very bitter, after the swallow, though the residual sweetness never fades; somewhat fruity, in the finish, as well
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; some warmth in the gullet
Overall: A decent DIPA but like all of the Good People beers, it has a bit more sweetness than what I would prefer
Serving type: on-tap

Showing the ability to take their craft serious but without taking themselves so seriously, Good People brewers bring a lightness to the religious culture of the bible belt with clever marketing and a light-hearted attitude.
Snake Handler his a rich imperial IPA that tantalizes the tongue with initial caramel, toffee and pound cake bready sweetness. Strong hop aromas float just above with honey-dipped pink grapefruit, freshly zested oranges and a grassy, piney, peppery tone.
Its strongly malted body is slow to release as a near-balanced sense between sweetness and hop character tramples side by side across the middle palate. Slowly drifting sweetness eventually allows the citrusy hops to pull ahead, doing so with an herbaceous and grassy flavor. Complex fruit and spice tones emerge with apricot and nectarine first, then rye and solvent later.
Barley-soaked sweetness continue to fade slowly into finish, just as the hops morph into sharp pine resins, fresh-cut grass and a peppery-bitter culmination. Retaining its fruity edge, the creamy beer is spicy-dry to close even though a malty-dry texture remains.
The beer's overall dense hop character is also evident with a deep hazy gold appearance and its ecru-stained whipped foam appearance. Its a highly formidable hoppy beast with more heft than standard IPA but not as verbose as so-called "triple" ale of the style.
