Poured into a large snifter at Mason's in Huntsville Al.
A : A very dark caramel color with a huge creamy head. Very robust in appearance.
S: Piney hop is heavy, with only a slight level of sweet malt in the nose.
T : Far more balanced than the smell would indicate. The hops are prevalent, but not overpowering. A middle sweetness leads to a small tingly finish. Only a trace of alcohol is just a minor warming.
M : Thick and heavy. Seems very carbonated, but the body keeps it from being fizzy in the mouth.
D : A delight to drink, but the ABV will shy me away from too many.

Orangy amber in color with lots or whitish creamy head. Great lacing and persistent head. Aroma is caramel and some hoP bitterness. Taste is about the same with some orangey citrus. Medium body, high carbonation. Good brew. I'd drink this again, but not go out if my way for it.

Thanks for opening this with me, DarthKostrizer!
Clear dark copper and amber. Fairly large near-white head. Fairly sticky.
Some tropical and pine notes in the aroma along with some sweet malt caramel as well.
Sweet IPA, with decent amount of hop bitterness, and a little bit of sticky pine. A touch of alcohol presence. A hint of citrus character.
Medium body with moderate carbonation. Big and sticky.
Decent, but nothing to seek out again.

Growler shared by unclejedi - thanks!
Pours a deep copper color with a one-finger off-white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving decent lacing.
Smells very good - robust caramel and pale malt aromas serve as a backbone to loads of citrus and tropical fruit hop notes.
Tastes good. Caramel malt flavors start things off before making way for good amounts of citrus and milder amounts of tropical fruit flavors. The hops fade surprisingly quickly and muddled malt flavors take over and carry through to a mildly bitter ending.
Mouthfeel is good. It's got a nice thickness with smooth carbonation.
Drinkability is good. I didn't have a problem finishing my glass and could have another.
Overall I was all set for this one to blow me away after getting my nose over the glass however the malt flavors didn't seem to agree with the rest of what was going on. Still, a good beer but with a few tweaks it could be great.

Let me prefix this review by saying that, although I am from Alabama, I am not some bandwagon beer rater. I will fairly rate ANY and EVERY beer I taste regardless if where it is brewed.
Poured from a 12oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours a semi-hazy copper color with a huge off-white head with great retention and lacing. If you see people complaining about lack of lacing or head, they either poured wrong or didnt get it fresh. This pours perfectly.
Smells like fresh apricots at first. After a few more smells I pick up grapefruit. Some alcohol. Pine notes and some musty hops but very VERY fresh.
Taste is amazing. I'm not an IPA guy. And this is my first double IPA but WOW. Perfectly balanced. Fresh grapefruit at first and then the hops begin to take over. Piney, citrus hops. Resin and pine is alll finish. Alcohol is noted, but not overbearing at all.
Perfectly carbonated. Resin really coats the mouth and leaves that pine feel and taste in the back of the throat.
This beer is great. Would definitely buy again and will. Really took for granted how readily available this is when it ships but man, this is such a great beer. Well worth the try.

Glad this beer is now in can form. Good news is that it will be available once a quarter. This beer fresh is just amazing and can stand up with any DIPA in the country. Its malty, resiny, piny, hoppy and amazing...
A: Slight orange haze color, with a good white head with excellant lacing. Pour this in a pint glass and it will stick!
S: Amazing that this beer can produce such an aroma. When fresh its Resiny and Piney with Citrus notes. Not only do you get this but the smell of a faint maltiness is in there as well. I would also say that it might have a slight bready aroma that comes through in the finish.
T: Up front the hop bitterness takes over then the alcohol comes in which brings in a welcoming maltiness to this beer. Its citrus, melon, piney and the ever so longing of malt that rounds everything out. This is a big beer and it's very balanced among hops, malt and alcohol
M: Very nice mouthfeel, sticky and well carbonated for style.
O: I wish I could get this beer fresh on a weekly basis, but I can't and neither can anyone else. I know the amount of reviews are up there, but in all seriousness this is among some of the best DIPA's in the country.

12oz can in pint glass
A: Hazy copper/orange color with a not quite white head that refuses to completely disappear and leaves lots of lace.
S: Caramel sweetness and piney bitterness
T: A fruity bitterness, lots of pine and citrus with a little something hidden in between. A definite shot of caramel malt with what seems to be some biscuit as well. No hint of alcohol.
M: Enough carbonation to keep from being cloying, but there is a creaminess to the mouthfeel. The load of hops linger on the tongue.
O: An excellent example of a DIPA, lots going on, but very easy to drink. Very glad I got to try this (thanks JC). Highly recommended for any hophead.

Poured from a 12oz can into a Tervis tumbler (only thing that was clean!).
A - poured dark, opaque amber with an off-white two-finger head that laced well.
S - pine resin, grass, pepper, some grapefruit.
T - nice bite. really floral finish with a tinge of phenol right at the last.
M - taste in the very back of my mouth. a little past medium-bodied. oily.
O - a really good DIPA. it's got the kick you expect from the genre but not so overpowering that you have to force yourself to drink it. it's even better on tap at good people's taproom. the guys that work there are aptly named!
