Snake in a can...more than a joke you pull on unsuspecting friends, this beer is a hoppy explosion of malt that now can be taken to the home fridge in a convenient package. The piney, citrus nose gives way to a rich malt backbone that would stand up well to spicy foods or an intense philosophical debate. From first pour to last sip, Snakehandler is a beer that doesn't shy away from being bold yet does not overwhelm as it snakes its way into your veins and massages your brain. Poured correctly, the thick frothy head rests comfortably atop liquid gold, a visual delight that is only eclipsed by the forthcoming tasting. Assembled in a judicious four-pack (believe me, it's for the best) it will make for a evening of fun and delight for all involved. Pick some up and see if you can handle the Snake.

Appearance: Arrives with a clear amber color capped by a nice head that leaves a fair amount of lacing
Smell: Caramel and resinous hop tones; more piney than citrusy
Taste: Caramel sweetness on the front end with a growing resinous bitterness; piney and very bitter, after the swallow, though the residual sweetness never fades; somewhat fruity, in the finish, as well
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; some warmth in the gullet
Overall: A decent DIPA but like all of the Good People beers, it has a bit more sweetness than what I would prefer
Serving type: on-tap
