I tried a 12 oz. bottle of this beer tonight at Mojo's BBQ on University Blvd tonight with pulled pork and fries.

A: Pours a nice brown ale color, 1" head or so with quick dissipating lacing.

S: Smells of pine hops and rich malts.

T: Medium bodied and delicious. Buckwheat, anise and caramel notes. Well balanced.

M: Not alcoholic, a little watery for a brown ale. Mildly carbonated.

D: Drinks easy with a dry finish. Easy to drink 3-4 of these no problem.

This poured with a very light brown coloring and entirely too much carbonation in the body. The head could never build thickly, though, but it did leave good lacing.

The aroma was light chocolate malts but a predominant fudge brownie scent exists.

The flavor was light on the chocolate, strong on the chocolate malts and very flavorful.

The feel is a two edged sword as it is really thin and watery but so easy and light that it has a sessionable aura.

This is one of those beers that doesn't wow you but you really like to drink.

Poured from a can into a hotel glass. Nov 2013

Pours deep mahogany brown bordering on black. Thick 1-1/2 inch tan foam. Bready nutty caramel toffee nose. Nutty taste, light, watered. Fast finish, no bite. A little sweet. Light carbonation. Good nut brown.

Nice to see another Florida craft brewery's beers, and in a can, no less.

A medium brown with a short tan head.

Nice aroma of chocolate an caramel.

Mildly sweet flavor, with hints of nuts, chocolate and caramel. Nice.

Creamy body.

Overall a very nice brown ale. Seek it out.

look: 3.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 4

Appearance: Opaque, brown ale with a healthy 3/4 inch head. Head remained through most of the glass with modest lacing
Aroma: Sweet malty aroma
Taste: Roasted malt flavor is prominent, slightly sweet, with modest hops. More malt flavor than hops even during aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Gentle carbonation, smooth finish.
Overall: Very good beer with traditional brown ale character. The uses of darker malts is evident in appearance, aroma and taste.

Serving type: on-tap
