I literally made an account just to say how awesome this beer is.
Smells great, looks a bit cloudy, and tastes somewhat sweet yet bold. I'm really at a loss for words describing this beer in detail, and I've had plenty of other decent wheat beers, but this beer is simply outstanding. One of the best beers I've ever had in my life - definitely in my top 5. Bravo, Bold City.

Draft offering at kickbacks back in July. Served in a standard pint, the brew appears a pale yellow color with white frothy cap sitting atop. Patchy webbing of lace sticks all over the glass as the cap recedes.
The aromatics include spice of clove with mild fruit like pear/apple skins. A little bit of wheat grain is also included. The aromatics are pleasantly mild, without fault and spot on for the style.
The taste is mildly tart from the wheat along with a touch of grainy crispness. Spice of clove and fruit akin to some apple/pear sweeps across the tongue mid-palate. Lightly yeasty into the aftertaste.
This is a medium bodied brew with a light refreshing level of carbonation. It is crisp and easy dribking. Overall a nice take on the style. I would not hesitate ordering this again if looking to drink a hefeweizen.

A-pale gold and very cloudy as a may good wheat beers are. There is a thin white head that dissipates very quickly. Could be a 5 if there was better head renention.
S-nice cloves but no banana. Nice wheat spicy backbone. No hop aroma.
T-solid clove upfront. Wheat malt comes through. Just a hint of banana on the backend.
M-high carbonation that cleans the palate and leads to a refreshing, dry finish.
Some yeast strain produce low banana esters and I would assume that is the strain they used.

Enjoyed this beer at Bold City's brewpub. Golden and murky, with a rapidly dissipating head the smell is typical of wheat beers; bready and mild fruit notes. Taste is fruity as well but not overwhelmingly so. Mild to medium body. Overall the beer is refreshing and easy to drink.

Poured on-tap at the Bold City Brewery, the beer was served up in a pint glass. The beer pours a pale, creamy yellow color with an unfiltered haze and a thin film of head. The nose is all bananas, which is not overpowering but smells rather tasty. The flavors are light, but definitely reminded me of homemade banana bread, with toasted bread notes, slight banana overtones, and a spicy coriander at the end of the tongue sliding into the aftertaste. The beer remains light throughout, staying true to the style, and has a light, but slightly sharp, finish. Very tasty beer, and would be great with a heavy meal due to the light flavors and effervescent, crisp body.

I'm not a big fan of wheats but if I drink them I actually liek them on the lighter style with no fruit or fruity yeast like german. This does not taste like a traditional german hefe, I did not taste the typical banana like flavors. it was clean and full flavored wheat flavors. Very cloudy and golden appearance. A wheat beer for me!

had this at bold city brewery earlier tonight.
great beer, i love this style of beer.
the colour was a cloudy pale gold, with a finger head that disipated, had some lacing.
smell- bread, maybe some spice
taste- bread, i got something spicy, cant quite figure it out, maybe it was the cloves that are supposed to be with this style.
m/d- great, wonderful, not over carbonated, smooth, wonderful beer to kick back and drink on a humid florida day while enjoying a burger.

I am a big wheat ale fan and was very curious to try this brew duringmy first visit ~10/2009. I did not take any deatiled notes at the time as I was visiting w/ 3 friends and tried to stay social.
But I did take careful observations and determined that this was the best "to style" brew I tried @ the taproom to date. I enjoyed the brew in a tall wheat glass. Appearance was golden cloudy in color. Appropriatte banana & clove aromas on a solid wheat backbone. Tastes followed aromas, and I would order this one in a heartbeat on my next visit.
