Had this on draft at "Tapa That" near Five Points in Jacksonville. (A great restaurant by the way)

This is just a spectacular stout from Bold City!
L - very dark, almost black with slight hints of amber when held up to the light. Big foamy head.
S - dark fruit, a little boozy
T - everything you want in a stout: malty with lots of coffee/chocolate notes. Very strong and complex flavor. Lingers delightfully on the palate.
F - moderately thick with plenty of carbonation
O - a truly great stout and well worth trying. The waiter tells me it is 7.5% ABV. Tastes really great, a top notch stout in my book!

On tap in Jacksonville

A: very dark brown with lightening on the edges, 1 fingers width of tan head, moderate retention, leaves lots of lacing

S: primarily roasted malts and coffee, a bit herbaceous, heavy cream; fairly simple but definitely nice

T: Follows the nose, roasted malt and coffee forward. I also get subtle bakers chocolate and cream. Again, simple, but flavorful and quite good

M/D: medium body, carbonation on the higher side for the style, drinkability is good

O: overall, a nice beer. I've had a couple bold city offerings so far, liked Duke's brown a lot, thought Killer Whale was garbage. Enjoyed this one though for sure. Definitely worth a try. Solid non-imperial stout

Half finger head with nice lacing on a murky brown body. Aroma is excellent with superb coffee notes, some dark chocolate. Simple but very inviting and full on the nose. Flavors of dark chocolate with the right amount of sweetness up front moving to coffee bitterness with some pine but not overdone. Notes of cola and brown sugar. Medium to full body and light to moderate carbonation. Nicely balanced and full flavored stout, definitely worth trying.
