Consumed December 30th, 2013 at the brewery. Noted as 10.3% ABV on menu.

Appearance: cloudy light yellow with minimal white head.

Aroma: low amounts of sweet, floral Belgian yeast smell.

Flavor: bubblegum, hint of spice (paprika? white pepper?). Sweet. Low bitterness. Not a whole lot going on.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied with adequate carbonation.

Nothing special.

A- pours bright and hazy golden color with a small creamy white head, good lacing down the sides

S- earthy yeast with some musty notes, fruity esters, banana, a bit woodsy

T- lots of fruity notes up front of tangerine, banana, and melon, musty Belgian yeast kicks in to add a dryness on the finish, lingering flavors of melon rind and banana

M- medium body with lively carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and crisp finish

O- lots of fruity notes meshes well with the traditional flavors of the style

Enjoyed on-tap @ The Wedge Brewing Co in Asheville, NC for $4. Tapped from one of the obscure/art graffitied tap handles into a 16oz Tulip Glass.

Aroma- Light spices, malts, and a good amount of fruit hits the nose palate first. Good amount of complexity and find myself coming back to find more after every drink.

Appearance- Received with a 3 finger, frothy head that stays for an incredible amount of time. Has a deep golden colored body and leaves good lacing behind.

Flavor- Light malts begin this tasting with a big time spice background. A light amount of hops come across and finishes with a light-medium bitterness level. Not so much of a dry finish like other Belgian Pale Ales.

Mouthfeel- Light-Medium Bodied, High Carbonation, Effervescent, and a soothing amount of alcohol warmth.

Overall Impression- For a brew named after the Lord of the Rings character, this one fit the description well! Nice spices blended into it and could enjoy many of these. Never noticed the ABV's in here and thats a good thing. Try and get a Growler filled with this! (See what they say).
