On tap at the (wonderful) brewery, drank outside with a handful of their infinite peanuts. This was listed as 4.9% on the chalkboard, but 5.1% on the Wedge website and 5.3% here. So it seems to change a bit.

A. Hazy, unfiltered. Pale straw. Grainy, watery. 1 finger tall white head, which could be bigger / last longer.

S. Minor wheat here, lemon, a hint of sulfur at the start. Coriander, naturally. Doesn't smell as bold as other beers of this style (Allagash, etc). Nothing really bad here, just a little timid.

T. Light, crisp and watery, citrus shines through although I'm getting more lemon than orange. Citric-fresh, spiced decently, quite wet. Light and refreshing, but I prefer a little more body and wheat-spice in my Witbiers these days.

M / D. High carbonation, served a bit too cold off the tap. Fizzy and light bodied. This is basically a lighter take on the Wit style and is just as good as Hoegaarden, but no more. Nothing special here for me - Mother Earth does this better if you're looking for a NC brewed Witbier. Still, refreshing enough on the hot iron porch of the Wedge.

Another goodie from Wedge that I was able to try on a hot day. This one really hit the spot for me as it pours out a nice light yellow color with a very nice haze to it. Nice one finger head of white stays on top for a good few moments before falling back down to earth an leaving just a good bit of lacing in its wake.

Aroma is light cloves, lots of fresh grasses, and light grain notes. Upon further inspection I am able to come up with a nice touch of light citrus, perhaps lemon touches to it as well. Very nice and light profile. This carries over to the flavor nearly perfectly as the light citrus rind, grasses ,light floral notes and big healthy dose of grain leaves the mouth feeling refreshed and thirst very much quenched. Easily session able I could have had a bunch more of this.

Overall a very solid and lighter offering that I would have no issue with having again any day. Really nicely done.

On-tap at Wedge Brewing Company, Asheville, NC

A: The beer is hazy straw yellow in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that died down, leaving a thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of orange peels are present in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and also has notes of wheat and hints of coriander.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I wouldn't call this a very refreshing or thirst quenching witbier, but it is definitely very flavorful.

Poured on-tap at the brewery and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a pale, hazy yellow coloring, wit a fluffy, clingy, white head. Nose of lemon, subtle grass, and effervescent sweetness. Flavors are citrus sweet forward, with tangy lemon-lime notes, followed by an effervescent citrus and tropical backbone, on a light, crisp body. The aftertaste is effervescent citrus, on a crisp, clean finish. Very drinkable.

On-tap at Barley's served in a standard pint glass a fairly crisp light orange with a thin diminishing head. Aroma is slight sweet malts and spice. The taste is a nice sharp spicy wit flavor very fitting to the style. The beer seems a bit heavier than the stated 5.3%, but is still somewhat refreshing. This one is somewhat enjoyable, but there are several beers from Wedge I'd order next time instead.
