Merry Christmas BeerAdvocate! In celebration, I have opened up this years Doggie Claws. Mmmm!
A: Poured amber/brown from bottle, with heavy sediment left behind. Low carbonation and nearly no head left behind.
S: Nice hop aroma! Reminiscent of other HotD brews. After the hops, I notice a bit of caramelized malt smell.
T: Sweet malt and hop harmony abound. The hops have mellowed from their presence in the nose, but are still delicious. The honey flavor pokes through a bit.
M: Smooth and balanced. Lingering flavors. A very balanced beer. The alcohol has a warming affect, but is indistinguishable.
D: Ooooh damn. I could enjoy these all night long. I wish I had more than just one. I'll keep an eye open for more and look to cellar a few to see what it would become.
