Many thanks to lou91 for a chance to try this brew.
Deep copper red with a thin orangish white head that doesn't hold very long. That 10.5% must be kickin'!
Big nose with surprisingly fruity hops that make me think rose petals and grapefruit. Slight alcohol twang and a sweet malty balance. There's also a hint of metallic twang but as I sip I notice it doesn't carry over into the taste.
Big mouth feel. Sweet caramel taste quickly gives way to fruity hops. Lots of simcoe more than the amarillo but still delicious. A dry bitterness from the amarillo after swallowing. Slight alcohol heat in the taste and definitely present after swallowing.
Solid brew with a lot of flavor. This one makes a great night cap. I'd love to have a few more of these sitting in my fridge.
