Pours a dark purple/brown. Bubbles! Even more than "barely carbonated," which is appreciated given the track record here.
Smells are musty old barrels, wood, tobacco, dark fruit, leather. Sweet too, actually reminded me quite a bit of cherry adam.
Dark fruits (plum, fig), leather, tobacco, typical aged Adam stuff. The barrels add another layer, musty wood mostly. No solvents, and minimal alcohol overall. I guess that's what happens when it's been sitting for 3 years. Integrated as hell.
Perfect mouthfeel, really. Full, not thick or syrupy. Doesn't linger too long.
Old ale, indeed. I don't think sitting on this is going to help it. It's aged already, and ready to drink.
