Poured from 22oz bottle. Many thanks to betsona for busting out this gem!

A- Pours a light hazed golden straw color. Two finger white head shows good retention. Beautiful thick streaks of lace all over the sides of the glass.

S- Citrus hops run amuck in the front of the nose. Grapefruit is the dominate aroma for most of the front of the nose. Light caramel bready notes hint toward the middle but this is quickly masked with a dose of citrus and piney hops. Ending has a nice bittery pine hop aroma and finishes with hints of alcohol. Damn this is a lovely smelling beer!

T- Citrus hops in the front decimate the taste buds right off the get go. Nice juicy grapefruit along with hints of mango and orange in the front of the beer all the way toward the middle of the beer. Middle of the beer is about the only time the hops do not shine in this beer and take a secondary flavor to a lingering caramel malt base. The hops pick right off where they left off in the ending where it at times feels like I'm sucking on pine needles dipped in grapefruit juice. Alcohol is not really shinning at the end as the hops even dominate this last section of the beer.

M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for the style. Hops, hops, and more hops dominate the palate leaving resin all over the teeth, lips, and palate itself. Aftertaste is hints of alcohol and crushing hop flavor. This beer is not balanced and is very hop forward which is great for the style. No off flavors at all in the beer as I was drinking it. Medium alcohol drying on the palate with hints of higher drying here and there.

O- This beer is a crushing DIPA. There is no if's and's or but's about it. The alcohol is low enough to enjoy it a lot although the hops at times make it a little difficult. I love the taste of this stuff I just don't like how it destroys your palate for the evening. Overall give me a couple pints of this and I'll be happy.

Pains me to write this.
Blue Dot is my favorite IPA/DIPA. Or it was, we will see. I am military, so the only time I can drink this is when I come home to visit, and I make it a priority to buy a few. Winter 2014 release.

Appearance 3/5: Same old milky orange color, but super hazy, ok well..moving on, maybe i just dont remember...also, little to no head. oh boy.

Smell 4.25/5: Yum. Malt backbone with orange, tangerine, pineapple.

Taste: 2.50/5. The beer i remember is there, somewhere. But not it's bordering overly sweet for this style. Huge citrus notes and a big malt base, it was a balanced beer up until now.

Mouthfeel 2/5. Undercarbonated.

Overall 3/5: I am giving this a generous 3 only because of the beer that I know it's supposed to be, and am hoping it's just an error in production.

Appearance- Pours evenly into a brisk, brownish amber color.

Smell - This beer smells truly amazing. A brisky, piney floral hoppy aroma. The definition of what an IPA should smell like. It tastes great, but it smells even better!

Taste - Orange and lemon piney hop goodness. Very floral and fruitish for an IPA. Great light flavor, yet intensely hoppy! An outstanding IPA flavor!

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with a minimal carbonation.

Drinkability - If you love hoppy IPAs, you will enjoy this beer! Outstanding, floral hop flavors.

Overall - An outstanding, balanced DIPA. Highly recommended, especially if you can find it on tap or for less than $7ish for a bottle.

Winter 2014 batch

Aroma - Fresh citrus, pine, peach, pineapple, grass, white wine

Appearance - Cloudy pale/golden amber, good head and retention.

Flavor - Floral, honey, grapefruit and pine notes. Very smooth, not bitter at all.

Mouthfeel - Smooth, pretty full body, velvety, creamy

Overall - my first time with this beer. I really like it. It's unique, floral, honey-sweet but balanced with pineapple/peach/pine. I Don't consider a 7% IPA to be a double. This is a very good, balanced and unique IPA (not a double)
