Big thanks to Jon for sharing this one. Review #100!

Beer pours a hazy reddish brown with a nice white head. Smell is nice, mix of vinegar, sour and acidic. Taste comes up way short, however. The flavor has an interesting flanders red type taste up front, but it finishes very bland. It is not very sour at all, has a little vinegar up front, but nothing to follow it up. Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied with high carbonation. Overall this is a decent beer, but falls short of expectations.

A: The beer is very hazy murky amber in color. It poured with a thin white head that completely dissipated.
S: Light to moderate aromas of oak and sour cherries are present in the nose.
T: The taste mostly follows the smell, but seems to be more mellow and doesn't have any distinct characteristics.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I'm not sure if this Flanders Red Ale is unblended, as it doesn't have that much complexity. It also seems to have more oak than sourness.

Note: 2012 vintage.

Got this at The Foodery in Northern Liberties in Philly. It cost a pretty penny so I'm hoping it's good.

A - Pours a deep copper colour with lot's of cloudiness. One finger of off white head and good carbonation. No lace, no retention.

S - Lovely aroma of tart cherry, plum, wood, sugar, some dustiness. Great mix of sweet and tart.

T - Quite tart, dusty, less of that cherry/fruity character. Sweet fruit and tart cherry coming out more. Clean and solid. Flavour started out confusing and muted slightly, but it develops well and becomes more tart and complex.

M - Good carbonation, fuller end of medium bodied, and a dusty sorta funky finish.

O/D - A confusing take on the Flemmish Red style. Quite tasty and complex with some odd notes, but overall a pretty tasty one. I think this was about $30 so I'm a bit confused on the hype/rarity, but I'm trying to enjoy it for what it is. What it is, is good.
