One of my favorites while spending time at Hair of the Dog, very fruity and refreshing taste, by far the lightest looking beer I had tried. Tastes of very sweet fruits, a little bit of citrus, and very smooth hiding the alcohol. Goldish cloudy color but brighter and thinner looking than usual. Very satisfying, tried in a flight sampler.

On-Tap the other day at Brouwer's Beer and Burger battle...

What surprised me the most about this beer was how full the body was... after a few Blue-Dots I expected this one to go down like water... it was very full bodied and had a very nice earthiness taste to it... quite unique (as is all HOD beers). I'm no expert in the style but this was excellent! Very glad I got to try/add this one to the database...

on-tap at Hair of the Dog tasting room.
from notes.

Burnt orange, brown with a creamy, off white head.

Sweet, floral and fruity with sweet bready malts.

More malty in the taste with sweet floral, fruity hops.

Medium to full body with average carbonation.

A very well done Maibock. Easily my favorite I have tried of the style, and something I hope is brewed regularly.

On tap a the brewpub.
My daughter's name is Lilah so this was a must stop for me.

A - Pours a dark and hazy orange with a nice hazy cream-colored head that never really fades much but leaves a ton of lacing on the glass.

S - Some sweet heavy citrus and fruit. Some nice maltiness as well.

T - Very fruity and nice. Dark oranges and red apples. Very hard for me to place.

D - Good heavy body with solid carbonation.

O - Very different flavors here but they are very very welcoming. Glad I caught this fruity, citrusy one on tap.

(Nearly) Straight 4 review. 12oz on tap at the brewery.

A: Dark orange with about a quarter thumb's worth of lacing around the rim. Interesting point that when this is swirled, it regains some of its previous head.

S: Spicy and earthy. Lots of peppers, here, both black peppercorns and green/jalapeno peppers. Corn husks and malt. As this warms up, I get a deep citrus scent - mostly pineapple. (This is made with Saaz hops, but they're much more aggressive than my internet research suggests.)

T: Corn husks and grains. More black peppercorn and pineapple. There's a really nice sweetness and biscuit underpinning and balancing this beer. Some wheat and oat.

M: Dry and clean. This lingers on the palate to the point it's almost coating. Quite pleasant.

O: Quite the lager, and certainly not what you might expect heading in, even if it is a maibock, particularly where it comes to the heaviness of the beer. There's a really good mesh between the nose and the tongue, and I'm sure this is going to be a regular on my visits to the taproom assuming it's not a one-off.

poured from tap into a taster. Pours a very nice orange/gold color with a good head.

Very well balanced with a good refreshing quality to it and aromas of grains, citrus, malts and some bits of white fruits as well.

Really nice and smooth medium feel with a good malty base for the flavors along with grains and citrus notes as well.

This was a real tasty maibock. Nice and refreshing with nice depth on both the aromas and feel.
