look: 2.5 | smell: 3 | taste: 3 | feel: 2.5 | overall: 2.5

Presentation: 12 oz brown short twist off with no freshness date. Quick blurbs about the brewery and the beer on the label. Layer of sediment is very noticeable at the bottom.

Appearance: Fast frothing white head sadly dissipates to a thin ring of lace, even with careful pouring a substantial amount of yeast made it into the glass causing the brew to look very hazed with a pale yellowish golden hue.

Smell: Yeasty with a lemony herbal hop aroma with a touch of honey like malt in the nose as well.

Taste: Carbonation is low leaving a slickly creamy mouth feel. Very yeasty on the palate with a bite towards the back, hints of hop and malt are there but the blanket of yeast is so thick it clouds them. Touch of astringency comes from the malt that same time as the hops hit for a bite the pushes the yeast to the top. Finishes a touch dry with yeasty overtones.

Notes: Give this brew some better flocculating yeast and a bit more carbonation to bring some crispness to the table and you might have a good beer. Unfortunately this brew does not come close to fulfilling my needs and was a chore to drink.

A: Opaque straw colored brew with thin white head.
S: Floral & light malt nose.
T: Bread and cereal notes in flavor. Nicely balanced malt backbone & hoppy finish.
M: Light bodied, smooth brew with a fair amount of particulates.
O: A very tasty APA.

On tap into a tulip glass at the brewery.

A-My pour arrives with about a finger of dense, white head. The beer is very murky and light honey in color. The head leaves a nice bit of clingy lace as I drink. A bit cloudy for my preference, but not terrible looking.

S-The aroma is pretty smooth with a doughy, bready malt base that is a tad sweet. Another whiff or two reveals a bit of citrus hops that give the brew a bit of orange peel and lemon.

T-The taste is hoppy for the style with earthy lemon and citrus flavors combining with the doughy malts. It is balanced, but slightly sweet for the style.

M-The feel is medium to full body for a pale ale with a chewy, doughy feeling. The carbonation is light to moderate.

O-This is a slightly odd pale ale. I has a bit of hoppy kick, which you might expect, but the chewy, doughy malts and murky appearance are a bit odd. That being said, it is not a bad-tasting beer, its just not one that I would sit back a drink a lot of.

It's not ugly, but doen't really look the style. Had I not seen it was a pale ale, I'd guess this to be a wit. The pour is a milky golden yellow. Very hazy. The head is a macro looking white. Very carbonated looking head, but the lacing is nice.

Same as the look. Not unattractive, just doesn't smell like a pale ale. Lots of malt and yeast on the nose, with some flowers and honey. The hops don't shine at all.

I get lots of yeast, think pepper. Kind of a biscuity flavor (yeast). Whatever hops are in there, it doesn't seem to be the citrus kind because there's not even a hint of pine or Hawaiian fruit.

I don't care for the thick, almost chewy feel. Normally I'd appreciate it, but that would be in stouts or strong Belgians, not in pale ales. This is full and earthy with an astrigent bitter finish.

This misses the mark. I've been interested in Adam and Fred, but was only able to get this from a friend near Portland. I was excited. Now I'm disappointed. The look is wrong, the smell is wrong, it doesn't taste good and it feels worse.
