Many thanks to mugglesandhops for sharing this one!
Hazy, almost cloudy, golden colored liquid, with slight orange/brown tones. Single finger head of slightly off-white foam. Decent retention and some pretty good lacing. Better lacing than I'd expect, for the style.
Big citrusy hops in the nose. Lots of lush tropical fruit notes. Pineapple, passionfruit, mango and papaya, are prominent. Slight hops spiciness, under the surface. Hints of butterey yeasty bread dough. Slight sweet malts buried deep down in there. Very complex, yet inviting, nose.
The hop spiciness is much more upfront in the mouth. Not nearly as sweet and tropical as the nose. Citrus flavor seems to now be dominated by dry ruby red grapefruit notes. Notes of sweetbreads and lots of grassiness. Floral hops notes and a touch of lemon zest, with a kick of pepperey spice.
Good solid medium body on this one. Nice level of carbonation. Crisp, in general, but not overly so. Refreshing.
This is a little bit too bitter hops dominant for me to drink frequently. But it is nice and refreshing, and I'd love to be able to have one every now and then. Especially in the warmer months.
