A light and refreshing American Ale, made with pale malt and crystal hops. She was inspired by my Mother's Mother, Granny Ruth because of her love and support. Don't be Ruthless. Have one on Granny.

poured from 12oz bottle into tulip.
A - Super dense and foggy dark copper with a thin bubbly head. Has a bit of an apple cider look. Opaque.
S - Very nice and subtle. soft and balanced...almost an apple juice like quality to it. With all the in your face hopped out beers, it is kind of refreshing to take a whif on a beer that is a bit more balanced. very appetizing.
T - Not really offensive, not really tame. Solid all around, but pretty boring. Every flavor is evenly balanced and nothing sticks out or hides in the background making the palette a bit muddy. All your favorite pale ale flavoring is there, but kind of mushed together...is the best way I can describe it. I do like the taste but it almost feels a bit more belgian and citric than anything else.
M - Immediately it popped out to me that this brew was pretty soft and somewhat watery...but not in a bad way. There is no hop bite...and the sweetness is not overly dominating either. Once again, thoughts of apple juice come to mind immediately.
D - I'd drink it again. It really reminds me a lot of the mikkeller base beer used for the yeast and hop profile. Definitely different from most other pale ales.

This pours a light gold with a pleasing hop character. I like the grainy backing, reminiscent of a toasted cereal note. Clean, crisp, just what I want in a pilsner—although it’s listed as a pale ale. What’s going on here?
