12oz bottle bought online at Craftshack, poured into a Troegs Mad Elf snifter.
AP: NIce rich dark colour, near black, Stout like. Dense foamy light tan head, 3 fingers high at the start and slowly dissipating down a finger width. This looks like it should be quite tasty.
AR: Toffee, chocolate, butterscotch, vanilla, dark fruits (raisin, fig), treacle. Some light notes of Earthy rustic hops and caramel malts. Brilliant nose on this.
T: Just like the nose, all the aromas are in the flavour as well. Only negative about this beer is that on the initial taste I do get a bit of the alcohol heat and then on the finish some significant warmth down the throat and in the belly, more than there should be. To me it's just enough to distract from the enjoyable tastes. Otherwise this is a true delight with rich intense flavours that treat the palate. The Earthy rustic hops come out nicely on the finish.
M: Good mouthfeel. The moderate carbonation adds a nice smooth creaminess without it being too crisp/bubbly. It's not cloying or sticky on the tongue either, but finishes with a faint moistness.
OV: A great beer and if the alcohol was better hidden I'd have rated this higher. The flavours are there, but the heat punches through a bit too much for my preference taking away from the smoothness. It's 'only' 10% ABV but drinks like it's at least 12%+. Otherwise very very enjoyable.

Appearance - The beer poured a dark malty color with a very modest head, which is appropriate for the style.
Smell - The aroma is quite malty and perhaps borders on being syrupy.
Taste - My initial impression of the taste is the sweetness of this ale. There are notes of sweet malt, nuts, tobacco, and oak. The oak is remarkable as this is not a barrel aged variation. The beer is warming on the way down, but it is certainly not hot.
Mouthfeel - The ale is almost sticky, coating the tongue and mouth. It allows for this taste to linger.
Overall - To this point, this is my favorite edition of the style. I like it a lot.
