12oz bottle, Bruery tulip, Batch 75.
The pour is certainly pretty, with the beer being dark auburn brown with purplish tones and the head so voluminous that I have to stop and wait to pour all twelve ounces. The large amount of head is a medium brown with medium sized bubbles and excellent retention.
I immediately smell some of the advertised descriptors such as figs and leather. Cherries covered in sweet dark chocolate, cherry wood, a wee bit of whiskey-like booze, cherry syrup, and yeast are also floating around. It's intoxicating.
Flavors are oh so close to aromas. Cherry liqueur on a brownie comes to mind. I find smoke to be a background characteristic, lingering pleasantly. The way this beer fills the mouth is luxurious and spins flavors of dried figs and cherries, fine chocolate, wood smoke, leather, and port off to excite all the taste buds.
The carbonation is exceptionally active, a little full for the finesse this fine brew promises and possesses. It is so, so close to a 5 with it's slightly syrupy body and tannic backend.
This beer that carries my name is amazing, magical even. It could be the best beer I have ever had. The combination of such rich fruitiness with rustic, not over sweetness is not like anything else I have imbibed.

Poured into a teku, dark brown and murky, with no head. Smell up front is smoke, a dark fruits, raisins, figs a hint of cherry skin. Getting a lot of smoke in the taste. It's a subdued smoke, not like a rauch or anything, but it's definitely there. Was not expecting it and it overshadows some of the other flavors. No carb issue here. As it warms, some of the dark fruit, caramel, burnt sugar flavor is coming out. Super complex. This might have gone over my head. Worth a try for sure. I'll try some with some age on it, see how that compares.
