Batch #61. Picked this bottle up about 9 months ago at a little store in Colorado. The clerk seemed to think this batch had been brewed with Brett as an experiment by HotD.
Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a DFH snifter. Beer was mahogany in color with a huge, 3 finger, creamy tan head. Heavy lacing around the glass.
Aroma was full and funky. Light caramel, cigar and malt dominated by sour, earthy funk. Very interesting and different.
Taste was smokey, roasted grains with light notes of malt and sour undertones. Pretty unique tasting.
A sipper that gets better as it warms. Just like other Hair of the Dog offerings, this is a winner in my book. I feel lucky to have spotted this in CO, I only wish I could find more.
