12 oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Batch 84 on front label.

A- Pours a very deep, deep brown color with 3 fingers of thick light mocha colored head that lingers quite a while receding un-uniformly to what looks like a mini mountain range inside the glass. Wow this beer looks great.

S- Huge up front aromas of rich dark caramel and candied dark fruits. Some thick resinous piney hops poke through the underlying carmel and fruit notes. Slightly boozy considering the 10% ABV. We're off to a really good start here.

T- Follows nose well, rich carmel sweetness hits the tongue quickly followed by a resiny hop kick that has lost its bitterness punch but still holds a little bit of power. Fair amount of dark roasted malts, combined with the strong flavors of molasses, and dark fruits. Finishes with the booziness that was present on the nose, and a light roasted coffee aftertaste.

M- Feels on the low side of full bodied. Moderately low amount of carbonation.

O- A solid Old Ale that goes great with the weather cooling off. A wonderful beer.

Poured from a 12 oz brown bottle into a clear pinot noir glass. Batch 85 on front of label. Purchased at Olive Tree Marketplace (San Diego, CA) for $5.49.

A: Porterish dark brown with 2-fingers of creamy light beige head with good retention and tons of craggy lacing around the top of the glass.

S: Caramel toffee and vanilla aromas greet first but get some resistance from citrus, pine, and resiney hops. Malt strikes back though with raisin, fig, and plum and just a bit of roasted malt and nutty aromas. Smells delicious...

T: The flavor even surpasses the aroma. The maltiness of this big sipper covers a bunch of different bases, but with a lot more cohesiveness than Fred, which I tried a few nights ago. Adam layers caramel, slightly burned chocolatey toffee, graham crackers, and dark fruit flavors, but especially fig and raisin. The hops provide mostly moderate bitterness and some orange and grapefruit citrus notes. The flavor holds together so well and is does with enough bitterness to prevent cloying sweetness. Alcohol is there but supports the sweetish flavor with some berry qualities.

M: A bit overcarbonated at first opening that was initially prickly but calmed after warming and opening but the big body eventually comes through to carry what turns out to be a nice, creamy feel. It drinks far easier than its 10+% ABV.

O: Adam is a superb masterpiece of a big beer. It provides such a well-crafted mix of malty flavors accented with hoppy character. Definitely find this beer and I imagine Adam from the Wood is probably amazing as well. Probably the highlight beer of my trip to San Diego.

Picked up a single at the Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido in mid-February for $6.99.

Beer poured a dark brown with a huge billowing brown head that is long lasting and leaving lacing behind.

Nose is hints of smoked malts and dark fruits.

Taste is dark fruits with some vanilla, and smoked malts. Not sweet at all considering the high abv.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied but very smooth.

Overall this is a well crafted beer that i am glad to have had the opportunity to try. Would definitely do again if available.

Poured into a Saint Somewhere wine-style glass. Label says Batch Number 86.

A- Pours an entirely opaque black color with a 1/2 inch tan head that doesn't retain much before becoming a lopsided ring around the edge of the glass and minimal surface foam. Full sheet of lacing cracks apart slowly.

S- Quite boozy with some heavy roast and notes of raisin, oak and molasses.

T- Intensely roasty with a hot alcohol twang that becomes more appropriate as it warms. Notes of dark roast coffee beans, char and bourbon. Slightly sweet.

M- Chewy and a bit creamy with medium-low carbonation and a heartily robust body.

O- This needs a lot of calming down. Wish I had another to commit to the cellar. Thanks to SatlyMalty for the chance to try it.
