Pours a clear golden beer with fairly lively carbonation.

Smell is very fruity and a bit sour smelling like a glass of hard apple cider. There is also some grain, and dried hay smells in the background.

Taste is much different than the smell. Slightly tart with an assertive hops bitterness. There are fruity tastes here too and a solid grain flavor. A dry Pilsner with a different more complex flavor. I like it; it doesn't try to be "Just Like The Others."

Mouthfeel is good.

Very drinkable, I will buy this again.

Appearance: yellow/gold, beautiful sturdy head with sticky lacing on the glass
Smell: great blast of malts and spicy hops, very inviting and just what you want from this style
Taste/Mouthfeel: full, lived up to it's strong fragrance, in great balance, not over hopped, just a nice nip of bitterness
Drinkability: great, I felt like drinking more, I will purchase this one again

A thin head on a clear, golden body.
The aroma is a good grain scent with a bit of lemon.
The taste is a sweet/bitter lemon with a long honey finish. Really nice.
The texture is crisp and clean with moderate carbonation and medium body.
Aside from not having any head, this is a great beer. The taste was an almost perfect balance of bitter and sweet.

This looks like your average european lager, bright yellow. Smell is alright, some hops, no skunk, which is a bonus. Taste is surprisingly good, clean and refreshing, Not overly sweet, and not overly bitter. This is well carbonated but overdone which makes the mouthfeel pretty unoffensive. This beer is a great Macro-Alternative and makes for a good BBQ beer for sure.

Pours pale straw with a good sized frothy white head, sitting light gold in the glass. Minor lacings decorate the glass as the head retreats to a light spattering and ring of foam around the glass.

Biscuit aromas with floral and grassy notes. Tints of lemon and sourdough also present.

Bright grassy hops from the start, very well balanced with dry, crackery malts and bread dough. Hints of white pepper and orange blossom honey, but bearing little to no sweetness. Finishes dry with lingering bitterness.

Light-medium in body with fine, crisp carbonation. Perfectly refreshing flavors and mouthfeel to compliment a sunny afternoon.

Picked this up at the local beer store for $2.60 500ml bottle. A light golden color, stark white head that quickly fades.Lots of carbonation. Aroma of mild hops and maybe some faint apple notes.Flavor of mild bitter hops and a tiny caramel note. I really liked this, for a pale lager it was very good, did not have that odd baby puke aroma that some pale lagers have. Very drinkable

11.2oz brown bottle. Poured into a stemmed pils glass it forms a tight white head that has good staying power and leaves ring lace. Golden body with loads of racing carbonation.

Pale malts and a little doughy in the background. There is a subtle but very nice hop profile that drys this up a bit and it finishes clean and refreshing. The more I have of this the more the hops kick in, they end up being a big factor as it warms just slightly. Grains are subdued and it doesn't have an adjunct feel to it at all. Pretty much what a Czech pils is shooting for.

Notes: I've had better in the style but this is at least in the same ballpark as some of the better ones I've had. I could session this with ease. Hits all the marks, Solid. This was part of a "beers around the world" pack I recieved from a friend. I was pleasantly surprised w/ this offering.

I've tried this brew several times over the last 10 years and is has been very consistent.

The pour leads to a big head that dissapates fairly quickly with little lace. The color is a pale gold. (I'm a bit color blind to it is probably yellow)

The nose is subdued and does add or detract from the beer.

The mouth is quite full for a pilsner particularly with the carbonation stirring things up.

The finish is what I like about the beer. It is on the dry side but leaves a slighty malty finish.

Clear bright yellow with a full white head, nice active carbonation, and some sporadic lace. Grassy herbal hops dominate aroma with a touch of grainyness underneath. Balanced grain and hop flavors. Light bodied but not watery; fairly smooth and not overly bitter or dry.

Better than your average macro for sure but not quite up to the better Czech Pilsners...

Per label: "Est. 1854" & 5.4% ABV

Half-liter bottle,

A: Pours yellow with a full, soapy white head, solid retention, some lace.

S: Smells of noble hops, grass, typical Euro lager bottle smell.

T: Malt is bready, light notes of pastry bread. Hops flavour is noble, a green flavour, grass and hay. Good balance.

M: Smooth, light-bodied, crisp, refreshing as a good pils should be.

D: A real nice suprise on the cheap out of Croatia. Went real nicely after a hour of shooting hoops.

Karlovačko has a very thick, foamy, white head, a clear, bubbly, golden-straw appearance, and some splotchy lacing left behind. The aroma is sweet, biscuit, barley malt and a touch of hop oil, and the flavor is the same, with pleasant, grassy hops to round it out. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Karlovačko finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and dry. Overall, this is a delicious beer. RJT

12 oz bottle into pint glass.

A: Not much head to speak of over a deep golden body. Decent lacing.

S: A bit of sweet apple juice. Sweet malts and grains.

T: A hint of sweet then the hop bitterness gets you but its a good bitterness than leaves the mouth dry and crisp.

M: Big carbonation but it feels rather nice for this type of beer.

D: A six pack a day will keep Dr. Blues away doooodes.

Croatians are pretty dang awesome at most things. So I figured I'd try their brew.

Pours a thin white head, dissipating quickly. Beer has a classic light yellowish pilsner hue and excellent clarity.

Smell is classic Czech pilsner, Saaz hops, flowery, slightly sweet, subdued, no harshness whatsoever.

Tastes light, slight bite in the mouth with an underlying smooth and slightly sweet taste of malt. This seems even lighter on hops than other Czech style brews from Europe, though.

Moutfeel is refreshing, slightly too light even for my taste (and I love delicate pilsners), but this could be nectar from heaven on a hot summer day.

Summary: nice beer, closely tracks Urquell and the other Czech pilsners but slightly lighter and less flavorful. Not a bad beer but not the cream of the class.

Has a subtle, malty aroma that is full of toasted grain notes, with a slight hint of floral hops.

On the tongue, there's a sudden explosion of fruity flavors that is very reminiscent of a lightly-flavored carbonated water, such as Clearly Canadian or Crystal Geyser. Don't let that comparison turn you off, because it's actually a good thing here, bringing lovely sparkly apricot, apple, grape and pear notes to the mix. These fruit flavors lie just over a bed of Grape Nuts cereal-like toasted grains (or perhaps biscuit-like grains, if you prefer). The fruit flavors last a surprisingly long time into the mouthful, only slowly subsiding near the end to reveal a light layer of hops that adds a slight bitterness and spiciness to the waning tide. The aftertaste was virtually nonexistent for me; only a slight flavorless hoppy buzz.

Overall, this is a great brew, full of unexpected flavors and charm. If this is the fare that Croatia has to offer, then this is one reviewer who will be making a point to swing by the next time he goes across the pond.
