I visit this store almost on a weekly basis. It is a huge store, in a former Barnes & Noble bookstore, to give you an idea of how much space there is. This store does have a nice beer selection, yet at the same time there are beers they don't carry that I'd expect them to have. It's frustrating. I like their bomber selection, and this is generally a great place to get foreign imports. My biggest complaint about Jacob Liquor Exchange is their prices. Most of their 6 packs seem to be at least $1 more than any other store. So why do I go there every week? Because like I said, they do have the occasional beer that other places don't have, it just depends what you're looking for. Overall I would recommend stopping in here, but don't expect any discounts.

I've been to JLE on several occasions. The store is HUGE and even has a humidor if you're into cigars. It's one of the best stores I've seen anywhere for aesthetics, organization, and comfort. Everything seems to have it's place and nothing is dusty. Employees have always been friendly and at least two always ask if I need help. You'll find several aisles of beer, a long row of wall coolers, and many end caps. Prices tend to be a little higher than most stores I frequent. They have tons of beers from many brewers, however...most of it is of the common release variety. I usually don't find anything that I have on a list unless is a common seasonal or year rounder which I expect to see everywhere. That being said, I have ran across interesting beers there that I didn't expect and was not really looking for in the first place. If you like gift packs this is a place that will have them in piles around the holiday season. Worth a look if you're on that side of town.

I stop here regularly when in Wichita on business and stopped in tonight to pick up a few brews. Recommended by a colleague who knows I like good beer.
Very large store in a strip mall near K-96 on Rock Road in east Wichita. Very clean appearance and very well lighted store. Mostly wine and spirits up front; the beer selection is in the back left portion of the store.
Very decent selection of both imports, crafts, and midwestern beers. Plenty of singles and bombers available on the shelf, as well as a selection of singles in the refrigerated section. Plenty of sixers of beers brewed in the surronding area. Each time I've come, they have a display of "new arrivals" that features a mix of craft and imports.
Overall, very solid selection and reasonable pricing. Although I haven't run into any "beer expert" in the store, the staff are always helpful.

Went to the mall which was not pretty far from this place on the east side on Rock Rd. I decided to check this place out. By the way, the place before this liqour store was here was "Barnes and Nobles" a book store. So of course I knew this was going to be a huge place.
Well upon entering I got flashbacks of when this place was a book store. This place is HUGE. Most of the space is dedicated to wine and I could see Scotch and other stuff. In the far back on the left side is where there craft selection is. They have bottles in singles so you can try them out. There craft selection is pretty good but nothing close to that at "Goebels Liqour".
Overall I was partially impressed and would stop by if I was on the east side and could not make it to the west side where Goebel Liquor holds a very special place to me, there customer service can not be beat.

Stopped at this liquor store when I was in Wichita for the weekend visiting a friend. This store was walking distance from his place, so it was the default for where we ended up shopping. I was wary at first, because this store had not yet been reviewed, so was expecting nothing amazing.
Upon entering, this place is huge! High ceilings and a lot of space to provide attractive displays. A large portion of the store appeared to be dedicated to wine, but when I made my way back to the beer area, I found several attractive beer displays showcasing a wide range of singles, six-, and twelve-packs.
The beer section, which had many of the beers available either chilled or unchilled, had a small card in front of each beer, describing style, color, flavors, etc. Very impressed. Overall, a huge amount of space and energy dedicated to craft beers, much more than I have typically seen at warehouse-type stores.
I was almost immediately approached by a knowledgable employee who was able to help me out and direct me to what I needed. Very helpful.
A pretty nice beer store. I would fully recommend stopping in if you're in Wichita.
