Shame on the masses for only giving this place 2 reviews so far. The 'new' Frank A Smith absolutely rules!!! The owner, Bill, has done an outstanding job in creating the greatest thing between Beer Yard and Shangy's (and I may argue better than Beer Yard given the spaciousness). I never have to drive up to Shangy's anymore - and have finally convinced a couple beer geek neighbors to do the same.

Crazy selection of sixtel's & quarters to rival that of Beer Yard and Exton Bev... probably 50+ in there today, including Founders, Bells, SN, North Coast, Oskar Blues, Ommegang, and all the great locals.

Staff is awesome - Todd, Jarrod, and Greg are all very accomodating - always greeting you as you walk in - and very knowledgeable as well. Reasonable pricing, too.

Check out the regular craft beer swaps - a great way for people in the area to get together and split up some terrific craft beers.

Got a case of Green Flash Le Freak and Oskar Blues Old Chub today - and had to hold back on the many Founders, Lost Abbey, Bruery, DF Head, and hundreds of other cases calling my name (incl two cases of 120 minute!).

If you are within 20 miles of Pottstown - anywhere along 422 - check this place out. Worth the trip.

WORLD CLASS selection along with great customer friendly staff equates to a true GO TO spot for any craft brew lover in the Pottstown or immediate area! Special requests are no problem for these cats and they make every attempt to get you what you are after!! Pleasant experience after pleasant experience has led me to recommending Frank Smith's to all of my craft brew friends!! Price wise, I haven't found a price from them that is anything but fair market value for the product! So with all these factors, I will continue to support and recommend people to go see Bill and his crew at Frank Smith Beverages!!! CHEERS!!

Frank A Smith is the place to go for craft beer. great selection of imports and domestic. IPA, sour, stout, belgian selection is the best that I have seen at a distributor and prices are great...better than Exton and Beer Yard.

I have never come across an old case of IPA either like I have at other distributors. If you ever need anything rare or hard to find call up and talk to Todd.

I mean how many places will have sixtels of Jolly Pumpkin, Hill Farmstead, St. Somewhere, and Cuvee Des Jacobins on the regular

I've been a monthly customer here for at least 5 years now. Over the years, ownership here has racheted up their beer selection greatly. They get most of the rare offerings, tons of sixtels, and there are very few beers you cannot find here. Service has always been top notch, and I feel as comfortable and welcomed here as Norm did on Cheers. The prices are great; in fact I've never seen better prices other than perhaps Wegmans in Collegeville. They do and will hold stuff if you call them, but you can't tarry. After all, they have a business to run. I go to Capone's and Blue Dog for singles. I go to Frank Smith's for everything else.

I am a frequent custome at Frank Smith's and have been for years, the selection is unmatched in Montgomery County and the prices are reasonalble. The guys here have assembled and organized the largest selection of craft and import beers and offer them at reasonable prices in comparison to other distributors I have been to. The store is very well layed out with American Craft at the entrance and Imports arranged in various isles. Thier staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and go out of thier way to help you and or order any hard to find items. I am very lucky to live in Limerick and have a store of this quality so close to my home I recommend Frank Smith's to everyone, check it out for yourself and you will be sold

I used to visit this place regularly as the craft selection is pretty good (compared to the smaller distributors in the area).
Unfortunately, their customer service is horrendous. Earlier this year, they posted on Facebook that Hopslam had just come in. I figured I would give them a call and pick up a case after work. When I called, I was told to call back tomorrow as the person who "takes reservations" was gone for the day (?). I called back the next day and was told that they were sold out but they saw my name on the list and I would be notified when the next shipment came in. Realizing that I never gave them my name or number, I asked what number they had listed for me and when caught, they hung up on me. Great service! I get that it was a hyped release and sold out quickly, but just tell me that and don't hang up on me. I am also leary of an establishment whose owner(s) also own a bar in the area. It seems they funnel all of their rare selections to that particular bar and promote it constantly on Facebook. Seems like a conflict of interest. I will never shop here again and have and will continue to advise others to do the same.

Went here after hitting up Craft Ale House. Once I made the right onto the street, The building was an eyesore with a big Frank A Smith Beverage sign brightly lit. This reminds me of one of those big Jersey package stores.

Inside is spacious, plenty of room. You will be surrounded by American craft as soon as you walk in. 1st stop, a cold cooler or two of some choice craft cases such as Cigar City, Weyerbacher, Etc. Warm cases to the left of the coolers with all that SEPA provides. Wow, That's a lot of Duck Rabbit, Hey look, a stack of Sculpin cases. Adam, I see you. A lot of PA breweries thrown in the mix with some choice selections. Down the lane, there is a Import section with Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and other countries locked down. I spotted A lonely case of Hannseenns Gueuze tucked away in the corner.

The rest of the store is sixtels, BMC beer and cigars. There may be a soda machine and snacks as well. The floor is spacious, wide enough isles, and it's pretty clean. When Im rich imma come back here.

Great spot, best selection in Montgomery County, strongly recommend this place. Knowledgeable staff, great selection, fair prices and a warm welcoming atmosphere. Just moved here from the main line and this place has it all over any beer store I have ever visited. Frank's carries products from every wholesaler and to get this selction you would have to drive around for hours. Also, they regularly have free beer samplings where you can get a chance to try some "real" beers not just the standard domestics.

This place is like the Cheers of beverages. They seem to know everyone who has ever bought beer there. Always a great selection of whatever you are into. Tons of imports and not just the run of the mill belgains that can be found anywhere. This place is a worthy stop for any BA. If your local they can will deliver kegs for partys etc. We had a wedding reception at the house with four kegs to be delivered and knocked it down to 2 due to rain. When the sun came out and people started drinking wholesale Franks came out with the other 2 kegs! Great place and great guys who are willing to go out of their way to make sure you keep coming back.

I am very fortunate to live near Frank A Smith Beverages. The selection is unrivaled amongst other local establishment and the staff is extremely helpful as well as knowledgable about what they sell. Can always feel free to ask what they think of a brew and you'll get a straight, honest answer. All the bases are covered here, but I stick to the right side middle of the store since that's where the micros, Belgians, etc are. There is also a small section of gift packs - St Bernardus, Chimay and others as well.

My only gripe is (true amongst nearly all distributors) is that they could do a better job displaying the pricing. Rest assured though, the pricing is a good value, but I am the type who likes to browse and it would be nice to see the prices as I go along (would help me keep to my buget). There is a pricing sheet on the wall of beer to the right, but its sort of a pain.

The place has allowed me to really feed my expanding tastes with their outstanding selection and extremely helpful, friendly staff.

Recently moved to the area....thankfully someone recommended this place before I continued to shop at some of the "other" top rated beverage locations.
Step right thru the door and you can see the selection is top notch. From the locals like Troegs, Sly Fox, etc...to the newest arrivals to SEPA, such as Cigar City, The Bruery, Terrapin, Dark Horse, etc....this place packs it in.
Unlike the Beer Yard and Exton Beverage, you have some real organization for easy shopping. Some pricing clearly marked or there is always one or two extremely nice guys who will help you out instantly.
Excellent import area too....almost all of which is on a shelf, at eye level. Dates are pretty clear too from what I can see.
Very clean, with one of the best sixtel selections I have ever seen.
Never walk out this place feeling ripped off or not helped. They are super friendly and know their beer. Great selection of cigars too if that is your other passion.
Plenty of parking, but during rush hour, this place can be a chore to get back to 100, but overall a completely enjoyable shopping experience.

My bro' worked here back when it was the "old" Frank Smiths and for a bit when it became the "new" Frank Smiths and the change is amazing. Where once a small section held imports and some micros now they are everywhere. Still a place to grab a macro, but now the selection is terrific and the turn over is quick. I stop here whenever I head up to my folks (who live in Barto) to pick up a case.

The staff is knowledgeable and I often see them at beer festivals. If you get an "in" you can get mixed cases and split some with some regulars. They even offer options that are worth just stopping in to see what they have.

Hoorah for Frank for selling this place to Bill. He made the right choice. A gem in Pottstown. You have to travel to Emmaus or Wayne to find something close.

Located just off Rte 100 in Pottstown, I was pleasantly surprised to see how this place has grown in terms of selection over the past 5 years. In my opinion, in terms of variety (in the Pottstown/Boyertown region), Frank Smith is tops. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgable about the beers- you can tell the staff has passion for great beer. As you enter, the place resembles any other old beer distributor- utilitarian but clean. Macros and other beverages are located off to the left. To the center and right are imports and micros. The selection is impressive with a great deal of local micros, Belgians, and such. Pricing is readily available along with some beer descriptions. I was able to grab cases of DFH 90, Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbeer, and Lancaster Rare Rooster in short order. From what I've been told, they also offer opportunities to mix a case and sample out some of their offerings.
In short, if I can't make the 45 minute trip to Shangy's in Allentown, I can always take the 10 minute route to Frank Smith's and expect a great selection.

Just started going here on a regular basis. They have a great selection, good web site, and knowledgeable staff. They update the website on a regular basis, keeping you informed of the new arrivals.
I was able to get great recommendations when looking for some good canned beers for my vacation.
Even though I am not into it, they are starting to carry a selection of imported cigars.
I highly recommend going in and talking to them, let them know what you are into, they seem to enjoy talkin' beer.
