Appearance: Produced a finger of head that managed to squeeze out some slightly lacing, even thought the head didn't retain. It's that clear slightly paler adjunct lager gold.
Smell: Hmm..nothing offensive but nothing special. Corn, barley, straw with a bit of a generic hop presence. Didn't need warming to come out but it's very mild and has a slight metallic twang.
Taste: It starts with a fairly generic mild corn and straw flavoured malt, but it makes up for it as the hops seem to make a slight appearance a bit early and add a touch of flavour that makes it stand out over most macro lagers. Has a slight honey taste to it as well.
Mouthfeel: That slight hop edge helps cleanse the pallet nicely and it doesn't stay around for very long but it is pleasant. It's a bit too flat in the carbonation department though.
Drinkability: Crisp, clean, smooth, easy going down and no problems keeping it down. That being said, that slight hop edge that saves so much of the beer for me, hampers it a little bit here.
Final Thought: Well, I had this after a night of skating and I downed it fairly quickly and easily, but the price wasn't quite what I wanted it to be for what it was. All in all, it's a slightly hoppier spin on the Macro Lager. I think Rolling Rock slightly pale might be a better name for it though. A surprising amount of flavour though for a 4.6% offering.
