Chestnut brown body with a thin cap of beige head. The lacing is quite full given the rather small head. Clarity is nice. Aroma is nice. Chcolate, cocoa, rye and doughy yeast. A lot of that translates nicely to the palate nicely. Sweet overall impression with some spicy rye undertones. Nice doughy, bready malt base. Easy drnking and flavorful beer. Pretty much the norm at Moosejaw.

They served this beer in a chilled pint for some reason. It tasted far better after it warmed up, just an FYI.

Pours a deep brownish red color, with a fairly creamy tan colored head, that recedes fairly quickly, although leaving a pretty good amount of lace.

The aroma is dominated by caramel and roasted malts, and just a hint of coffee beans in the background.

The flavor is heavy on the malts with some multi-grain, bread-like graininess and a nice caramel background. Seems to leave a slight raisin flavor on the palate. No hop presence in this to speak of.

This medium bodied beer feels nice and creamy on the tongue, leaves a delectable little sweetness behind leaving you wanting for more. A pretty good seasonal offering.
