Moosejaw is NOT impressive. A previous reviewer said it best when he compared this place to a Chuck E Cheese's that brews its own beer; tons of families and screaming kids, even around the bar area.

The place is huge (typical for the Dells). Three levels of faux log cabin-esque décor with various taxidermy strewn about. It feels like the Leinie's lodge without the canoes. None of the staff are educated regarding the beer, and none seem to even drink beer for themselves (one bartender told this BA that the only 'dark' option on the menu was the amber!).

The beers themselves were all similar in character, which means that either the same yeast strain is being used for all of them, or there is some discrepancy in the brewing process that gives all of them the same, caramel-like character (bad lines, perhaps?). The offerings were all standard, with nothing standing out as good or unique.

The food was decent, but not impressive. It was quite clear that tables should eat and leave in a timely manner in order to maximize turnover and profits. That, coupled with the fact that probably three quarters of the people in the place were under 13 years old makes this a bad stop for beer.

Bottom line: skip this place if you are looking for a good brewpub.

Food was amazing. The beer was eh. Liked the Amber the best. The rest was drinkable, but nothing special.

There probably isn't too much to say about Moosejaw that hasn't already benn said before. This is a pizza place. Midwestern style pizza to be exact, but thankfully they don't party cut it. And, since this is the Dells it's packed full of tourists and kids and everyone's eating pizza.
That said, the pizza isn't all that bad. It's not all that good either, but the sauce is sweet and they load it with cheese. I've had worse.
The beer is about the same as the pizza. Fairly generic and brewed for the masses. It's unexciting enough that I didn't even bother filling my growler even though fills only cost $11 and I had brought my growler with me.
I will say my server was a really good guy. I might not have liked Moosejaw much, but my sever was attentive and was willing to get me a sample of whatever I wanted.
In the end Moosejaw is what it is: a pizza pub in a tourist town. I didn't expect much and I didn't get much in return.

When one is in the Dell's...one must visit the Moosejaw on principle. The brewery is located on one of the main strips in a big log cabin type building. The atmosphere is hit a little...not because of the decor...is that it is more for family night out after a long day in the Dells. The quality of the food and beer was both very good. The service was quite attentive and happy to help. The selection for both food and beer was decent....although it is a pizza place. So I had the pizza, pan style and it was very good. I had a 10 pc sampler, one pint, two adult entres, three kid meals & drinks, and two appetizers....total was $100....seemed a bit much for mid-Wisconsin.

Visited this past Tuesday with my wife and kids. Good family atmosphere including moose hats for everyone. Large menu. Pizza was decent and beer bread with honey butter was pretty good. Of course, I made the family go so I could try the beers. I wasn't a big fan of the honey ale but found the rest of my flight to be quite drinkable. If you are looking for an intimate craft beer taproom, this is NOT your place. But for a large family friendly vacation spot that also makes their own beer, I was overall pleased.
