Excellent bottle selection, staff was more than helpful, the owner George was very nice and well educated in all realms of beer. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is up in Ojai for the weekend or day to stop in check what they have in their bottle selection and/or what they have on tap, both were great!

Incredible bottle selection here to say the least and 20 taps. Had lunch as well, pretty good. Service was fast and efficient. Neat place, I'd love to have a bunch of cash to spend here. Also quite a bit of wine & spirits too. A must if you come to Ojai.

This is one of the better bottle shop/bar combos I've been to anywhere in the country, including NYC, LA, etc. The selection of bottles is pretty good and prices are fair. The taplist is great; last time I was in they had (among other) FW XVII, Sucaba, Velvet Merkin, Bruery Oude Tart, etc. It's a fantastic spot to come browse bottles, grab a beer on tap, and hang out. The food is pretty good too; I particularly like the fries.
On top of that, the service at OBC is fantastic. Jorge knows his stuff when it comes to beer and really takes care of his customers. A few months ago I was in, and I bought a couple bottles of Enjoy By along with some other stuff. He asked if I wanted to try something and handed me a bottle of Founder's Harvest Ale and wouldn't let me pay for it. They really go above and beyond here. OBC is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Love OBC! They always have a great craft beer selection and the atmosphere is fantastic. They have excellent beer on draft at the bar, located towards the back of the store and the selection changes all the time (you wont ever see budlight on draft here!) They also have an out door patio on the side with plenty of comfortable seating. They serve great food and the store owner is very involved in the local craft beer/home brewing community, so he really knows his beer. The establishment has always been clean, well organized, and welcoming every time I visit. I highly recommend this spot if you want to buy some bombers or if you just want some good grub with a great beer!

A- Good atmosphere. A little dark in the back patio area. Could have been opened up a little more to let more light in. For Ventura/Santa Barbara County, it could have been more open and out in the daylight.
Q- Quality was great. Can't complain about anything
S- Service was good. The kitchen was extremely slow, especially considering how crowded it was (not very). We ordered at 3:50 on a Sunday afternoon, and the food showed up at 4:40. Seems a little long to me. Happy Hour starts at 4, and you think since we ordered at 3:50, that would have been brought to our attention, but it wasn't. We had to ask about it.
Selection- The selection of beverages here is off the charts. I've never seen anything like it. Prices are slightly high, but not too bad, and the selection is well worth it. And they sell a ton of stuff, so everything is pretty much fresh. I drove almost an hour to get to this place, and I would do it again.
F- Food was good, not great. Prices are typical for the area. I wasn't disappointed, but I also wasn't blown away.
V- Not bad. For the area, they could charge more and pull it off. I was happy with the entire scene, and so was everyone I was with. I will be going back.

This place was decent under the old ownership. New ownership (the past few years) has simply done some amazing things.
Beer selection is great. There are several taps of decent brews and a small bar in the back of the store to enjoy them. Very cool set up for what looks like a retail shop.
Beer selection in coolers is wonderful and unexpected. There are several choices that don't make it down to Los Angeles or up to the bay area. This is an interesting and well stocked oasis in this small community.
A must hit if you're in Ojai or, for that matter, even in Santa Barbara area - worth the drive.
Note: Better than the beer selection is the wine and spirits selection. Perhaps one of the best spirits store I've seen, especially for rare and hard to get bottles.

Visited OBC with friends on 5/7/11.
Located in the heart of downtown Ojai, amidst several fine eating establishments, and many a trinket store.
I only WISH our town had a nice little local beer drinking place with the selection that this place has.
When you walk in all of the beer coolers are along your left wall, while wine/liquor are spread through the rest of the store to your right. Of course, my primary focus was on the beer selection.
And there is a HUGE selection at that. Not to mention the 20 beers on tap!
There is a bar area where you can enjoy yourself with friends, as well as eat. The food menu LOOKED amazing, simple, yet amazing. We had already eaten lunch, so unfortunately the food will be for another trip.
Beers were served in proper glassware, and the staff was incredibly friendly, and knowledgeable. This establishment is a true gem, and was only an hour away from us making for a nice day-trip with friends.
My only minor critique, and perhaps this is because I am a girl, and unfortunately didn't appear to be something that this place could help. The bathroom was a unisex, 1-stall, and was located just over a short wall to the side of the bar area. It's just not something I want visible while I am trying to enjoy food and great beverage. It was at least clean for a male/female restroom.
HIGHLY recommend, however.
